Spanish Segunda Division, battle for promotion - final. "Real Oviedo" hosts "Espanyol" at their venue. Real Oviedo Didn't expect to see this team in the final, but credit where it's due. In the first match, they displayed a lacklustre performance against "Eibar" (0:0), but looked excellent on the road, securing a victory (2:0). The last time "Real Oviedo" played in La Liga was back in 2001, and after more than 20 years, they have a fantastic chance to return Espanyol The Parakeets brought problems upon themselves at the start of the season, squandering many points when they could have already been celebrating a return to the top division. In the first leg of the semi-final, they defeated "Sporting Gijon" (1:0) and simply held a draw in the return leg (0:0). "Espanyol" is a regular participant in La Liga, only dropping to Segunda for a maximum of one season. Head-to-Head Since 2020, the teams have met four times. "Espanyol" has two wins (2:1, 2:0), "Real Oviedo" has one (2:0), and one draw was recorded (1:1). Prediction on Real Oviedo vs Espanyol match The visitors have an impressive unbeaten run and, in general, are more experienced, so they'll play for the result. I'm taking handicap2 (0) here at 2.46 and I believe the Parakeets will secure their ticket to La Liga, so you might consider betting on their qualification.

Espanyol After being relegated from La Liga last season, Espanyol now have a chance to return to the top division, having amassed 69 points in 42 rounds of the Segunda, finishing fourth overall. The Catalans successfully conducted the first play-off match on Sunday in Gijn and achieved a narrow victory with Javi Puado's goal in the 88th minute, giving them the edge going into the second leg. This result extended Espanyol's impressive unbeaten run to 17 matches across all competitions, with their last defeat being a 2:0 loss to Racing Santander on 10th February, over four months ago. Notably, the hosts have kept clean sheets in five of their last six encounters, and head coach Manolo Gonzlez knows that another shutout would see "the Parakeets" advance to the play-off final, where they will meet either Eibar or Real Oviedo. Eibar Concluding the championship on a high note with three wins in the last five rounds - against Amorebieta (5:0), Cartagena (1:0), and Real Oviedo (4:3) the Basques were not far from becoming champions. Finishing just three points behind Legans and Valladolid, who secured second place, Eibar almost returned to the elite division without going through the playoffs. In the first match against Oviedo, Eibar managed to hold their ground, preventing the opponent from gaining an advantage on their home turf (0:0). Something that surely won't please the home fans: the team has failed to progress past the playoff semi-finals in the last two seasons. However, under Joseba Etxeberria's guidance, they have won all six of their last matches across all competitions after a defeat to Burgos in March. It's important to note that Eibar has kept three clean sheets in the last five home games, scoring 19 goals in their previous seven. Real Oviedo After being relegated from La Liga, the Asturian side spent 11 years in the Segunda, eight years in the third division, and four years in the fourth. Villarreal B In my opinion, the weakest team in the division, who are already ready to bid farewell. Even in the event of a victory, the points won't be enough to escape the relegation zone. In the last five matches, they defeated Sporting Gijon (3:0), lost to Real Valladolid (2:3), Amorebieta (0:2) and Levante (0:3), and only managed a draw with Albacete (2:2), which doesn't help much at this stage. Racing The visitors are positioned sixth in the league table, but Sporting Gijon is breathing down their necks, so winning this match is a must. If they had focused and at least grabbed a draw against Zaragoza in the last round, this would have been a less stressful encounter. Levante The Frogs are in a similar situation to "Huesca." They seem to play well but can lose points out of nowhere, nullifying all efforts. They have no chance of promotion this season, so there's no motivation at this stage. Head-to-Head Statistics Since 2020, the teams have faced each other five times. "Huesca" has two wins (3:0, 2:0), "Levante" has one (2:1), and two matches ended in a draw (0:0, 1:1). Prediction and Bet for the Match Huesca Levante I think no one will force events here; I just don't see any point in it. They will calmly see out the final match and go on break. One can even take a risk and bet on a draw at 3.40 (the Frogs draw the most in the division) or TU (2.5).

On Sunday, May 26th, in the 38th round of the Spanish Primera, "Las Palmas" will host "Alaves" at their home ground. Both clubs, having secured their standings in the elite division after last year's promotion, approach this match as a mere formality before the much-anticipated summer break. Stadium The clash will take place at the Gran Canaria Stadium in Las Palmas. Las Palmas "Las Palmas", having gained promotion last summer, managed to retain its status in the top division. The Yellow and Blues started the season well, climbing into the top eight, but faltered significantly in the second half. If "Getafe", "Sevilla" and "Celta" do not win simultaneously in the final round, the hosts could finish as high as 12th. However, the Yellow and Blues have not won in La Liga since February 10th, losing 9 out of their last 13 matches and drawing four times. Despite being in a numerical advantage in the final quarter-hour, they couldn't break "Cadiz" (0:0) last weekend. Only "Rayo Vallecano" (29) and "Cadiz" (25) have scored fewer goals than "Las Palmas" (32) this season, and only "Granada" (24) and "Almeria" (23) have suffered more defeats. Nonetheless, Garca Pimienta's squad is 15th in the overall home performance with 23 points in 18 games. Alaves "Alaves" returned to La Liga last summer and will stay for a second consecutive season. Two years ago, the Basques were relegated to Segunda but quickly returned to the top flight via the play-offs. "El Glorioso" were particularly effective at home this year, gathering 31 out of their 45 points at Mendizorrotza.
