Today as a part of the second leg of the Spanish Cup semi-finals, Real Sociedad will be hosting Mallorca. After a nil-nil draw almost three weeks ago, neither team has performed well in the league, only managing a single win apiece. Real Sociedad Regrettably, Real Sociedad has been going through a difficult period since the start of winter. The White and Blues fell 2-0 at Parc des Princes in the first match of the Champions League round of 16 and now look to bounce back in La Liga and the Copa del Rey. Last weekend, they faltered on home turf, losing to Villarreal (1:3), which left the team at the sixth position in the national league and risking a season without European spot. Santi Comas scored a double, Mikel Merino reduced the gap to one in the 86th minute, but Sorloth snuffed out the intrigue in the added time. Surprisingly, Real Sociedad has only won the Copa del Rey twice - in 1987 and 2020, and also failed in four finals. What concerns the team's manager, Imanol Aguacil, is this: The team failed to secure a home win in the last six matches in all competitions. Real Sociedad is dealing with several injury issues of crucial squad members ahead of some vital matches: Munoz, Carlos Fernandez, Merquelanz, Odriozola, captain Mikel Oyarzabal (8 goals in La Liga) and Elustondo are all unavailable. Traore, Zaharayan, and Barrenetxea (3 goals in La Liga) were injured in the match against Villarreal the first two are expected to be fit for the cup tie, but there's a 90% chance that the third will miss out. The main threat in the team's attack is Japanese forward Kubo (7 goals, 3 assists in La Liga), with assistance from forward Andre Silva (on loan from RB Leipzig). Mallorca The Islanders are far from the fight for European spots in the league, currently occupying only 16th position in La Liga, and obviously, they're focusing on not getting relegated to Segunda Division. The recent performance of the team from Palma leaves much to be desired: apart from failing to score in the home semi-final of the cup, the red-and-golds have only won one of their last six matches in all competitions. Last weekend, Mallorca could only scrape a point I a draw with Alaves (1:1), and earlier, fell to none other than Real Sociedad (1:2). Worth noting that the club won the Copa del Rey once - in the 2002-03 campaign, defeating Recreativo de Huelva 3:0 in the final. Mallorca has also been underperforming away from home and has not been able to secure a victory in their last three away matches. On Tuesday, the Islanders will again be without right-back Maffeo, who is sidelined with a serious injury for a long time. He is the only squad loss for the visitors, and thus, manager Javier Aguirre will probably start Canadian striker Cyle Larin (4 goals in 5 cup appearances). The red-and-golds can rely on experienced Vedat Muriqi (5 goals in La Liga), while Prats (also 5 La Liga goals), on the other hand, might be rested. Head-to-Head The Pirates haven't been able to best Real Sociedad since 2012, and in the current campaign, the Basques came out on top in the league twice: 1:0 and 2:1. Prediction for the match Real Sociedad - Mallorca Real Sociedad needs to put all their effort into success in the national cup, as it may be the only opportunity for Aguacil's charges to secure a place in the Europa League. Mallorca is significantly inferior to the opponent in terms of quality and has also slowed down in recent weeks. The Basques have already defeated the Islanders twice in the current La Liga campaign why not do it again on Tuesday with the support of their home crowd?

Today within the framework of the 26th round of the Spanish Primera, Girona will host Rayo Vallecano on its home pitch. Michel's team has ceased the fight for the title, conceding in duels with Real and Athletic Bilbao, while Rayo has been without victory for six games in a row. Girona After an incredible first half of the La Liga season, Girona is slowing down in recent weeks. Sitting in second place, the Catalans failed to pick up a single point at San Mams just seven days ago (losing 3:2 to Athletic Bilbao). Previously, the white-maroon suffered a heavy defeat at Santiago Bernabeu against Real Madrid (4:0) and drew at home with Real Sociedad (0:0). Having gathered only one point in the last three rounds, the Blanquivermell allowed Barcelona to re-enter the race for second place, and there is no doubt that the capital's Athletico and Athletic are also hoping to take their chance to reduce the gap in the overall standings. It should be noted that the hosts have the fourth best home performance in La Liga this season, scoring 29 points in 12 games in front of their supporters. Daley Blind may miss the match due to injury once again, as well as Justin, Roca (who haven't played a single match this season) and Toni Villa (recovering from a cruciate ligament rupture). David Lpez is also still absent from the squad with a muscle strain. Yann Couto, who was sent off in the match against Real, did not play against Athletic (disqualified) and is likely to return to the starting lineup this time. Ukrainian forward Dovbyk (14 goals), who is third in the league's top scorers' table, will be responsible for creative efforts in attack, as will his compatriot Tsygankov (5 goals, 3 assists). Experienced Porto will be on the substitutes' bench, while Savio will keep his place on the left flank; Ivan Martin will play as a false number ten. Rayo Vallecano Rayo Vallecano suffered defeats in February from Atletico Madrid (2:1) and Mallorca (2:1). As a result, the white-reds have not known victory in the championship for six games in a row, and last weekend the team drew 1:1 with Real Madrid: Joselu put the Blanco ahead, but Raul de Tomas equalised with a penalty on the 27th minute. This success was preceded by a shuffle on the coaching bridge: Inigo Perez replaced Francisco as the capital side's head coach on 14th February, and the 36-year-old specialist will be hoping for another positive result on Monday. Overall, "Rayo" has accumulated 25 points, which allows them to take 14th place in the league table, eight points ahead of the relegation zone. The Franjirrojos have done well on the road in the current campaign: 16 out of 25 points have been collected, with 11 goals scored and 12 conceded. Not in the capital club's lineup are Isa Palazon (3 goals in La Liga), who will be serving a suspension for exceeding yellow cards, while Chavarria (11 matches this season) and Mendes are injured. As for the rest, Rayo will travel to Catalonia in optimal form, including the main offensive force in their attack - Raul de Tomas. Jorge de Frutos is expected to get a chance due to Palazon's absence as he will launch from the flank while Alvaro Garcia will operate on the opposite brow. Radamel Falcao and Sergio Camelo, as expected, will once again find themselves on the substitutes' bench to beef up the game in the second half. Head-to-Head This season, Rayo has twice lost to Girona - 2:1 in La Liga in November and 3:1 in the Copa del Rey in January. Match Prediction for Girona - Rayo Vallecano Girona, in the last three rounds, squandered their chances of the championship and will now attempt to defend second place in the table. Rayo has won only one of the last 14 matches in La Liga and no longer has any real tournament motivation - the gap from the relegation zone is a comfortable 8 points. I believe that the Catalans will redeem themselves in front of their home crowd and come out on top Monday night.

Today within the framework of the 26th round of the Spanish Primera, Real Madrid will host Sevilla at their home ground. Carlo Ancelotti's team last week drew with Rayo Vallecano (1:1), while the red and whites drew with Valencia at Mestalla (0:0). Predicted Line-Ups Real Madrid: Lunin; Vsquez, Rdiger, Nacho, Mendy; Valverde, Tchouamni, Kroos; Brahim; Vinicius, Rodrigo. Sevilla: Nyland; Bade, Ramos, Salas; Navas, Sou, Sumar, Torres, Pedrosa; Romero, En-Nesyri. Real Madrid Leading La Liga by six points from the following Girona, the Madrid Grand must now use this advantage to claim the 36th Primera title in its history. However, in the last round, Los Blancos unexpectedly stumbled, barely managing to overcome Rayo Vallecano (1-1). The hosts haven't lost at Santiago Bernabeu in all competitions, with the last victory being achieved over Girona (4-0). Los Blancos will play two more matches in the championship against Sevilla and Valencia, before hosting RB Leipzig in the reverse fixture of the Champions League last 16 on March 6, and there is no doubt that the capital team is one of the favourites in the main continental competition. It's important to note that Carlo Ancelotti's charges rank second overall in home performances (with 32 points scored, 30 goals and 7 conceded). Jude Bellingham (16 goals, 3 assists in La Liga) is likely to remain in the infirmary this coming weekend (his return is scheduled for the reverse Champions League fixture against Leipzig). The newly fit Courtois is unlikely to make the squad, with his possible on-pitch return not earlier than April. Alaba and Militao are still injured, while Carvajal and Camavinga will be suspended. Joselu (8 goals, 2 in La Liga), who scored last weekend against Rayo Vallecano, suffered a slight injury and will rest tonight. Some good news: Ferland Mendy is back after a suspension and should be in the starting line-up, while Brahim Diaz is expected to play behind forwards Vinicius Junior and Rodrigo. Sevilla The seven-time winner of the UEFA Europa League, Sevilla, plummeted from European cups this season (4th place in the Champions League group). There's a good chance the Andalusians won't get into next season's continental competition, as the team's current position in La Liga hardly pleases the fans. Laying 15th at the start of the 26th round, Sevilla went through four matches without a defeat in February, including two victories over Rayo Vallecano (1:2) and Atletico Madrid (1:0). Last weekend, the Andalusians settled for a goalless draw with Valencia. Last year, the visitors ranked 12th in Spain's top flight, which was the worst final result for the club since it dropped out at the end of the 1999-2000 season. As expected, Sevilla ranks only 15th overall in away performances: 10 points collected in 12 rounds, 13 goals scored, 18 conceded. Kike Flores' team will have to play without Agume (on loan from Inter) and Longo, who are injured, as well as Ocampos, Marcao, Lukebakio and Lamela. Striker Mariano Diaz and holding midfielder Gudelj (due back in late March) will also miss out. This match will mark Sergio Ramos' return to Santiago Bernabeu. Sevilla's line-up will also include 23-year-old forward Romero (3 goals in 6 matches), and Adria Pedrosa is likely to take to the field on the left flank of the defence if Acuna doesn't recover from injury in time. Head to Head Los Rojiblancos drew 1:1 with Real Madrid at home this season, but the previous year saw Los Blancos triumph 3:1 at Santiago Bernabeu. Prediction for Real Madrid - Sevilla The teams are having a completely different season in terms of results: the hosts are fighting for the first place in the championship and have practically secured a quarter-final place in the Champions League, while Sevilla is stuck in the lower part of the Primera table. The hospital wards of both clubs are overfilled, yet Real Madrid's long bench allows Ancelotti to rotate the squad painlessly. My prediction: a favourite victory with a -1.5 handicap.

Today as part of the 26th round of the Spanish Primera, Barcelona will host Getafe. The team headed by Xavi occupies the third place in the league table, trailing the Madrid's Real by eight points, while the "Azulones" are in tenth place and no longer have a substantial competitive motivation. Barcelona Barcelona is having a disappointing season in almost all respects. Humiliated by Madrid's Real in the final of the Spanish Super Cup (4:1 defeat), the Catalans were subsequently knocked out of the Copa del Rey by Athletic Bilbao in the quarter-finals (4:2 after extra time), ruling them out of the title race. Of course, the Blaugranas can still hope for triumph in the Champions League - this week, Bara drew 1:1 with Napoli in the first leg of the round of 16, courtesy of a goal from Robert Lewandowski, though such an outcome seems hard to believe. Last weekend in La Liga, the Catalans took three points against crisis-stricken Celta Vigo (1:2), returning to the top three of Primera: the hosts now have four consecutive rounds in the national championship without defeat, having previously beaten Osasuna (1:0) and Alavs (1:3). This season, the Blaugranas have lost three times at their temporary stadium, accumulating a total of 28 points from 13 home matches (the fifth-best result in La Liga). Xavi can count on the return of Joo Flix and Sergi Roberto on Saturday; moreover, Ter Stegen recovered from his injury a couple of weeks ago. However, Gavi (ruled out for the rest of the season), left-wing back Balde, Ferran Torres (7 goals in the league) and Marcos Alonso (recovering from back surgery) remain unavailable. Robert Lewandowski, who scored five goals in the last four matches across all competitions, will lead the attack, while 16-year-old Lamin Jamal will compete with Rafinha for a place on the right flank. Getafe Getafe was the first team to cause problems for Barcelona this season, managing to snatch a draw from the reigning champions in their home match in August. Since then, the blue-greens remain a tough nut to crack for any opponent: the striking duo of Greenwood and Mayoral are churning out goals one after the other. In the league table, the team from the suburb of Madrid occupies a respectable 10th place with 34 points and hasn't suffered defeat in the last three La Liga rounds. Following an impressive victory over Celta (3:2), the visitors drew twice, once with Betis (1:1) and last weekend with Villarreal (1:1). The gap from Real Sociedad, in sixth place, is only six points, but Jos Bordals's side is far less convincing on the road, with just 10 points from 13 matches. In the absence of key midfielder Mauro Arambarri, who is unlikely to return this season due to a torn ACL, the team's managerial staff will have to make do. Midfielder Jordi Martn (8 matches this season), who had to leave the pitch prematurely in the game against Villarreal last weekend, avoided a severe injury and might be able to play on Saturday. Mayoral (15 goals), as aforementioned, is the top scorer in La Liga, while Greenwood (5 goals, 5 assists), on loan from Manchester United, handles the creative work on the offensive flank. Barcelona graduate Carles Alena will also make the starting line-up and will try to make his mark against his former club. Head-to-head Three out of the four previous meetings between these two teams ended in a goalless draw. Furthermore, in none of the last five matches against Getafe have the Catalan side managed a win by more than a single goal margin. Prediction for the match Barcelona Getafe Having won three out of the last four championship matches, Bara still retain a faint chance of defending the title, though even Xavi's charges don't believe in such an outcome. "Getafe" is a challenging opponent for any club, and the "Azulones" have only lost in one of the last five championship rounds. Considering the tough match against Napoli this week, the Blaugranas will not be in optimal condition - boldly predict a +1.5 handicap for the visitors.

On Friday, 23 February, as part of the 26th round of the Spanish Primera Liga, Granada will host Valencia at their home turf. The host team currently ranks 19th in the league standing, being six points shy of the salvational 17th position, while Los Che sit eighth in the overall standing and lag behind the strongest six teams by four points. Predicted Lineups Granada:Batalla; R Sanchez, Miquel, Rubio, Neva; Ruiz, Hongla, Melendo; Uzuni, Boye, Pellistri.Valencia:Mamardashvili; Foulquier, Diakhaby, Mosquera, Gaya; Perez, Pepelu, Guillamon, Canos; Yaremchuk, Duro. Stadium The match will be held in Granada at the Nuevo Los Carmenes stadium. Granada Despite having good chances for a respectable La Liga campaign this season, the reigning Segunda champions have been rather prosaic so far, looking absolutely non-competitive over the distance. Over the past weekend, the Andalusians could have cheered their fans with a victory in the match against the sinking Almeria who haven't scored a single win since the campaign started. The clubs had to settle for a 1:1 draw due to goals by Pubila and Uzuni, which became the third consecutive draw for the red-and-whites after a 3:3 draw with Barcelona and a 1:1 away with Las Palmas. The host team lags behind the 17th-ranked Celta by six points, having scored 12 out of the 14 points in the current Primera campaign on their home turf (the fourth-worst performance in the league), with 16 goals scored and 22 conceded. Valencia This season, Valencia has once again achieved stability after several years of turbulence spent in the lower part of the table. Los Che are still aiming for European qualification, being only four points behind the top six. In the current campaign, Ruben Baraja's team has clinched 10 victories, six draws and suffered nine defeats, scoring 36 points. Over the past weekend, the yellow-and-oranges failed to defeat Sevilla at home (0:0), a week after they were defeated 2:0 by Las Palmas. It is important to note that Valencia's home performance impresses: the visitors have scored 24 points in 12 matches at Mestalla, while they struggle away from their home soil, having scored only 12 points in 13 away matches. A year ago, the "bats" ranked 16th in La Liga, which was their worst result since the 1985/86 campaign. Head-to-Head Granada will strive to claim their first La Liga victory over Valencia since December 2020 as the red-and-whites have lost three out of the four most recent encounters, including a 1:0 defeat in the first leg in November. Prediction for the Match Granada Valencia Valencia simply must take all three points this Saturday, as Los Che are battling for a spot in the European zone and cannot afford to stumble against a league outsider. Granada is in a deep crisis and averages less than a point per home game. I do not expect any sensation here and bet on the victory of the yellow-and-oranges. Over/Under Prediction In six out of the seven previous head-to-head encounters, these teams have exchanged goals. Granada will, of course, let a goal in but it also has a good chance to score a goal of its own. I bet on the continuation of this high-scoring trend. Corner Prediction Both teams average less than 4 corners per match. All the struggle will take place in the midfield, so I safely bet on an overall under of 8.5 corners. Yellow Card Prediction In the three previous head-to-head encounters, these teams have earned 20 yellow cards in total. I confidently bet on an overall over of 4.5 yellow cards. Score Prediction I will bet on an exact score of 1:2 in Valencia's favor.

On Friday, 23 February, as part of Spain's Primera 26th round, Real Sociedad will host Villarreal on their home ground. The hosts achieved a victory against Mallorca, winning 2:1 last weekend, while the 'Yellow Submarine' drew 1:1 against Getafe. Predicted Lineups Real Sociedad:Remiro; Pacheco, Zubeldia, Le Normand, Galan; Mendez, Zubimendi, Merino; Barrenetxea, A Silva, Zakharyan.Villarreal:Jorgensen; Femenia, Albiol, Mosquera, A Moreno; Akhomach, Comesana, Coquelin, Morales; Guedes, G Moreno. Stadium The clash will take place in San Sebastin at the Reale Arena. Real Sociedad After disappointing in their first Champions League 1/8 final match against PSG at Parc de Princ ( a 2:0 defeat), Real Sociedad partly redeemed themselves in the eyes of their fans with a victory over Mallorca in the championship (1:2), putting an end to an unsuccessful streak of five matches without goals in all competitions and three rounds without wins in La Liga. This triumph also allowed the Basque side to regain 6th place in the La Liga standings. It's worth mentioning that the stripes have been underperforming at home recently, having scored only one goal in their last five matches in all competitions, and not winning any of them... Villarreal Marcelino's charges seem to be gradually emerging from a crisis, having gone five rounds without defeat, albeit drawing four of them, which doesn't conform to the club's main goal of securing a place in European competitions. The only victory in the championship since the beginning of the calendar year was achieved over Barcelona with a crushing score of 3:5. Villarreal is likely to travel to San Sebastin without the injured Foyth (right-back), Denis Suarez (midfielder), Pino (torn cruciate ligament), and Terraza (meniscus tear). Head-to-Head In the first round, Sociedad thrashed Villarreal at the Ceramics with a score of 0:3. For five head-to-head matches in a row, these teams have not drawn. Real Sociedad - Villarreal Match Prediction Villarreal has not lost in five consecutive rounds of the championships, with the 'Yellow Submarine' drawing four times. Real Sociedad struggled to beat Mallorca last weekend (1:2), but the Basques are having enormous problems with their winter game - the crowded infirmary and the tense match schedule are both affecting. My prediction is a draw. Total Goals Prediction As mentioned earlier, Sociedad has been scoring few and conceding few in recent weeks. I don't expect a spectacular match and bet on the total number of goals less than 2.5. Corner Prediction Villarreal averages 5.2 corners per match for the season, while the hosts only 4.5. I bet that the guests will at least not lose in this component. Yellow Cards Prediction Both earn an average of 2.7 yellow cards per match - we confidently bet on the total number of warnings more than 3.5. Exact Score Prediction I bet on an exact score of 0:0

The match between Elche and Eibar is taking place today as part of the Spanish Segunda. Elche's Current Form Elche suffered a 0:1 defeat in their last match against Amorebieta. The goal was scored by Dorrio in the 56th minute. In the current 2023/2024 season, Elche holds the 8th position in the Segunda Divisin league table with 40 points after 26 matches. The team has a record of 11 victories, 8 defeats, and 7 draws with a goal difference of 25:23. The team's form in the last 5 matches: 3 victories and 1 draw. Amorebieta is ranked 22nd in the league table with 19 points after 26 matches, where the team achieved 4 victories and suffered 15 defeats. Eibar's Current Form Eibar continues to show excellent results in the current Segunda Divisin Championship season. In their last match against Zaragoza, Eibar secured a 1:0 victory due to a goal scored in the 7th minute. This victory added three points to the team, keeping them in the second position in the league table with 45 points after 26 matches. Eibar's form is impressive: out of the last 5 matches, they've won 4 and drawn 1. Zaragoza holds the 12th position in the table. Eibar does not slow down and continues to push towards the top. Their rival has won 9 out of 27 matches and has 36 points to their credit. Forecast for the Match: Elche - Eibar Based on recent matches, I place my bet on the victory of the visitors, who are actively fighting for their promotion to La Liga and in a month have moved from the 5-6th place to the second.

Today as part of the 25th round of the Spanish Primera, Mallorca is set to host Real Sociedad. The visitors have not claimed a victory in any of their last five matches in all competitions, whereas the "islanders", last weekend, prevailed over Rayo Vallecano with a scoreline of 2:1. Mallorca Whilst Mallorca may be having a remarkable run in the Copa del Rey, where they made their way into the tournament's semifinals (0:0 in the first leg against Sociedad in Palma), their league performance has been substantially challenging, retaining a lowly 16th position, only six points clear of the relegation zone. This may be a relatively comfortable buffer, especially given that the islanders scored a great home win over Rayo Vallecano 2:1 last week - Ante Budimir making the decisive goal in the 91st minute. Notably, Palma's team had failed to secure victory five times in the league prior to this, including a 4:0 defeat in Bilbao against local Athletico. In this current campaign, the red-golds have only won three times whilst drawing seven out of their twelve home matches. The islanders have not spoiled their home audience with a lot of goals: only 11 goals scored in 12 meetings, compared to 10 goals conceded. Budimir has put in four goals in five Copa del Rey matches and is to return this Sunday, whereas Martin Valjent and Pablo Maffeo are still out due to injuries. Both Bryan Reyna and Salva Sevilla scored five goals each in La Liga and were up to scratch during the last round and are set to start this time. We expect few changes from the starting lineup that bested Rayo. Real Sociedad Real Sociedad kicked off the Champions League playoffs last week and made a convincing first half against PSG but, in the end, could not withstand the mighty attack of the opponent, conceding two goals: from Mbappe and Icardi (2:0). After the match, Mikel Merino stated that his team is determined to turn around the situation in the return leg, which will take place at Real Arena in early March. Switching to the league, we note that the situation for Sociedad is complex: they are not even within the top six and, therefore, cannot contend for a European place (7th position); moreover, the striped team has not been able to score in five successive matches across all competitions. Last weekend, the squad from San Sebastian even conceded defeat at home to Osasuna in the derby (0:1).The away team is looking ahead to a challenging schedule: return matches for the Copa del Rey and Champions League are to be played by the 5th of March, plus meetings with Mallorca, Villarreal and Sevilla are coming up. Sociedad will again miss left-back Muoz (most likely out for the season), the experienced Odriozola (knee ligament injury), Elustondo (injury), Carlos Fernandez (meniscus surgery), winter newcomer Becker (Union Berlin), Merkellanos (out for a few months), Bernetxea (injury), and captain Mikel Oyarzabal (8 goals in La Liga). Isak (6 goals, 3 assists in La Liga) returned from the Asian Cup and is set to lead the attack of Basques, and Umar Sadiq might start in place of Andre Silva. Head to Head The islanders have not beaten Real Sociedad in the Spanish league since September 2011, and in the first half of this season they suffered a 1:0 defeat. Match Prediction Mallorca Real Sociedad The two matches between these clubs this season have not been particularly entertaining (only one goal in total). Sociedad's medical room is bursting at the seams, which prevents the coaching staff from properly rotating the squad, resulting in the Basques failing to score in five consecutive matches across all competitions. Mallorca, in contrast, shows progress and fights for its place in the elite. I presume that, in their current form, the islanders are at least capable of drawing.

On Sunday, 18 February, as part of the 25th round of Spanish Primera, Rayo Vallecano will host Real Madrid. Los Blancos are leading the league table, outdoing the following Girona by five points, while Rayo has dropped to the 14th spot and has pulled seven points away from the relegation zone. Predicted Lineups Rayo Vallecano:Dimitrievski; Balliu, Mumin, Lejeune, Espino; Valentin, Ciss; Palazon, K Perez, A Garcia; Camello.Real Madrid:Lunin; Carvajal, Tchouameni, Nacho, F Garcia; Valverde, Kroos, Camavinga; Joselu; Rodrygo, Vinicius. Stadium The match will take place in Madrid at the Campo de Vallecas stadium. Rayo Vallecano Rayo Vallecano quickly realized that they have no place in the race for the Europa League zone, and the Madrid club is now content with a comfortable stay in the middle of the league table. The hosts are 14th overall with a comfortable seven-point margin from the 18th-placed Cadiz, hence the team is surely expecting a calm end to the championship. Last weekend, the Red-whites suffered their fourth defeat in the last five rounds - 2:1 against Mallorca, which led to the dismissal of head coach Francisco Rodriguez, who had been at the helm for two seasons, Rayo will now be led by Iigo Perez. It's important to note that Madrid's performance at home this season is simply atrocious: they've only got 8 points in 11 home games, scored 10 goals, and conceded twice as many. The majority of the team's players will be ready for this mini-derby in Madrid, with the exception of a possible absence of Mendes due to injury. Real Madrid Real Madrid solidified its position at the top of the table by thrashing Girona 4:0 at Santiago Bernabeu. This victory provided Los Blancos with a five-point lead over the Catalans and, even more importantly, a ten-point gap from Barcelona. This season, the Royal Club has only lost once in La Liga in the derby against Atletico (in September). Last Tuesday, Real Madrid faced RB Leipzig in the first match of the Champions League 1/8 finals and triumphed thanks to the sole goal of Brahim Diaz in the second half (0:1). Carlo Ancelotti's team claimed three consecutive away victories in La Liga and has the division's best away record, scoring 29 points in 12 matches. It goes without saying that Los Blancos have the best attack (netted 52 goals) and defence (conceded only 15 goals) in the championship Ancelotti is forced to do without the injured Alaba, Militao, Rudiger, and Courtois (all with ruptured cruciate ligaments), as well as Bellingham (16 goals, La Liga's top scorer, brace against Girona) and Brahim Diaz (7 goals), the latter being injured this week in Leipzig. Head-to-Head Rayo Vallecano has only lost one out of the last three matches against Real Madrid, and even triumphed on their home ground last season with a score of 3:2. The first-round match ended in a goalless draw. Match Prediction Rayo Vallecano vs. Real Madrid Rayo will try to exploit Real Madrid's hectic schedule and their injury woes, but the hosts are in such dreadful form that it's difficult to envision their success against the league leader. Los Blancos are on the upswing, and the reserve players desperately need to prove their worth due to personnel losses. Los Blancos are simply of a higher class and should secure the routine three points. Total Goals Prediction Real Madrid has only conceded one goal in their last four matches in all competitions, and are unlikely to invest all their efforts in attacking their opponent's goal. We confidently predict a total goals under 3. Corners Prediction Without a doubt, Real Madrid will dominate possession throughout the 90 minutes and will triumph in all key aspects, including corners (handicap -1.5). Yellow Card Prediction Rayo will have to commit a lot of fouls to keep up with the opponent's rapid flanks. I expect the hosts to win in terms of yellow cards. Score Prediction I'll place a bet on the exact score of 0:1 in favour of Real Madrid.

On Saturday, 17th February, within the frame of the 25th round of the Spanish Primera, Valencia shall host Sevilla at their home ground. The guests pulled off an unexpected 1:0 victory over Atletico Madrid last weekend, while Los Che lost away to Las Palmas 2:0. Predicted Lineups Valencia:Mamardashvili; Foulquier, Mosquera, Ozkacar, Gaya; Canos, Guillamon, Pepelu, Guerra; Amallah, Duro.Sevilla:Nyland; Navas, Bade, Ramos, Acuna; Sow, Soumare, Torres, Ocampos; En-Nesyri, Romero. Stadium The match will take place in Valencia at the Mestalla stadium. Valencia Valencia has risen to the 7th place in the La Liga tournament table and is nearing the European zone. However, after a 2:0 defeat by Las Palmas last weekend, the bats have dropped to the 9th spot in the tournament table, although they are only 3 points behind Betis at the start of the round. At Mestalla, the wards of Rben Barrahi have demonstrated decent results of late: five wins and two draws in their last seven matches, and the team last lost at home in late September. In addition, the 'blanquinegros' scored two consecutive victories at their home ground over Athletic Bilbao (1:0) and Almeria (2:1). Last season Valencia finished in 16th place in La Liga, which was the club's worst final position since being relegated to Segunda in 1986. It should be noted that in 24 played rounds, the yellow-orange have scored and conceded an equal number of goals - 29 each. Sevilla For the first time this season, Sevilla won the second match in a row last weekend, sensationally defeating Atletico Madrid (1:0) a single goal by Romero decided everything. This was great news for the team, which has been participating in the relegation race since autumn. Thanks to such a result, the Andalusians begin to increase the gap from their competitors, and are currently ahead of Cadiz by 6 points. Given that the 'pirates' are in deep crisis and have not won in winter, a victory over Valencia today virtually guarantees the Sevillians staying in the elite. I should note that this year, the 7-time winners of the Europa League won't be performing in the European cups after dropping out of the Champions League in December. Meanwhile, the wards of Quique Flores are having difficulties away from home, having gained only nine points in 11 matches away from their fans. Head-to-Head Los Che could celebrate a double over Sevilla for the first time since the 2017-18 campaign, following a 2:1 victory in the first leg in August. Predictions for the match Valencia Sevilla Three weeks ago it seemed that Valencia would win this match, but since then the guests have won two Championship victories, including a triumphant one over Atletico Madrid last weekend. Of course, Los Che do well at home and have been undefeated here since mid-autumn, but it's the Sevillians who have a slightly more skilful squad. I'll risk placing a bet on a draw. Prediction for the total In four of the previous five head-to-head matches, these teams invariably exchanged goals. I bet that this trend will continue this time as well. Prediction for the corners Sevilla averages 5.5 corners per match and has not yet secured their place in the elite. I predict that the guests will take at least five corners. Prediction for yellow cards In all five previous head-to-head matches, these teams have earned at least five bookings combined - the same will happen this time. Prediction for the score I go for an exact score of 1:1.

Today a significant match between Andorra and Villarreal B teams will take place, as part of the Spanish Segunda Division. Current form of Andorra Andorra suffered a 0:1 loss in their most recent match against Alcorcon on the 11th of February. The single goal of the match was scored by Jose Perez in the 4th minute. In the league table, Andorra is in 21st place out of 26 participants. So far, the team has played 26 matches, winning 6, losing 14 and drawing 6. They've scored a total of 21 goals whilst conceding 34, accumulating 24 points. Alcorcon is in 19th place, after playing 26 matches, procuring 7 victories and 12 losses, yielding a total of 28 points. Current form of Villarreal B Villarreal B, the youth team of the Villarreal football club, competes in the Segunda Divisin the second strongest division of Spanish football. Their most recent match against Tenerife ended in a 1:0 victory for Villarreal B. This win put Villarreal B in 18th place in the Segunda Divisin league table. In the 26 matches played, the team has secured 7 victories, endured 12 losses and has drawn 7 times. The overall balance of goals scored and conceded stands at 27:40, with a total of 28 points collected. Their form in the last 5 matches includes 1 victory and 1 draw. Tenerife holds the 15th spot in the league table, with a tally of 9 victories and 11 losses, amassing a total of 33 points. Prediction for the match Andorra - Villarreal B The "submarine's" second team is higher positioned, whilst Andorra is in the relegation zone, despite their better performances in recent rounds. Hence, my betting tip leans towards double chance (X2).

Today within the framework of the 25th round of the Spanish Primera, Celta will host Barcelona at their home field. The Catalans last weekend had a draw, 3:3, against the relegating team, Granada, whereas the "Crusaders" earlier on lost to Getafe at the opponents field with a score of 3:2. Predicted Line-ups Celta: Guaita; Tapia, U. Nunez, Dominguez; Mankilio, Jeylson, Beltran, Ristic; Allende, Larsen, De la Torre. Barcelona: Ter Stegen; Kunde, Araujo, Martinez, Cancelo; de Jong, Gundogan, Pedri; Jamal, Lewandowski, Rafinha. Celta As in the previous season, Rafa Benitez's Celta is battling for survival. Occupying the 17th position in the league table, the hosts are commencing the 25th round, just three points ahead of Cadiz in the relegation zone. The Galicians are currently in their 12th consecutive season in the Spanish football top division. Last weekend, the "Celtics" on the road against Getafe in the outskirts of Madrid showed some tenacity, but still lost their third game in the last four rounds (3:2) prior failures included matches against Sociedad (0:1 in La Liga and 1:2 in the Copa del Rey quarterfinals) and Girona in La Liga (0:1) goals by Mayoral and Jaime Mata (double) sealed the deal. It's worth noting that the team from Vigo performs rather poorly at home: in 12 home matches they collected only 10 points, scored 8 goals, and conceded 15. Having missed the African Cup of Nations with the Ghana national team, Joseph Aidoo is due to return to action only in April after a severe injury. Bamba, who claimed the trophy with Ivory Coast, recently flew to Vigo, but it's uncertain whether he will be in the starting eleven on Saturday. Underused Svedberg (19 years old) suffers from the same physical ailments as Dotor (16 appearances in La Liga this season) both continue to heal in the medical ward. Yago Aspas (3 goals, 5 assists in La Liga), Larsen (9 goals), and Duvikas (4 goals) are likely to be on the pitch from the very beginning, handling the creativity at the forefront. Late signing Tadeo Allende might also start. Barcelona The current Spanish champions are likely to cede their crown to their archrivals - Real Madrid. As by the beginning of the 25th round, ten points divide the two sides. The reason, of course, lies in their lack of victories and, most importantly, serious defensive issues with the Catalans (33 goals conceded in 24 matches). To illustrate, last year Blaugrana let in just 20 goals throughout their entire domestic campaign. A few days before the Champions League play-off clash with Napoli in Italy, Barca will aim to make up for their 3:3 draw with the struggling Granada Lamin Jamal managed to bag a double. Prior to that, the Azulgranas had taken six points from the two matches in February, defeating Osasuna (1:0) and Alaves (1:3). It's important to note that Xavi's team has remained undefeated away from home in La Liga, winning six and drawing five of their eleven away matches. Lately, Barca's medics have returned Joao Cancelo, Rafinha (3 goals, 5 assists in La Liga) and captain Marc-Andre ter Stegen to full training. However, talented Joao Felix (4 goals, 2 assists), and the second best team scorer in La Liga, Ferran Torres (7 goals), remain sidelined due to injuries. Let's not forget the injured duo Gavi and Balde, and Romeu, Sergi Roberto and Alonso (recovering from a lumbar operation) will also miss the trip to Vigo. Robert Lewandowski (10 goals in La Liga), is likely to start, while winter recruit Vitor Roque (1 goal in La Liga), back after suspension, will be ready to strengthen the game in the second half. It is expected that Xavi will make two changes in the line-up compared to the last round: Ronald Araujo will return to the heart of defence, and Rafinha will take a place on the left wing. Head-to-Head In the first leg of the season, Vigo residents were defeated by Barcelona, 3:2, whereas in the previous season, they beat the Catalans, 2:1 at their home ground. Match prediction for Celta - Barcelona Considering Barca's current state, it wouldnt be unexpected if Celta ends the match Saturday evening in Vigo with a positive result. The Catalans have already lost their chance to claim the championship title in Spain and can now concentrate on a successful performance in the CL, especially given the upcoming 1/8 finals against Napoli. The hosts are fighting for survival and have to secure points on Saturday at all costs my bet is on the underdog's victory or draw.

Today an exciting match is set to take place between Zaragoza and Cartagena as part of the Spanish Segunda. Current form of Zaragoza In their last encounter, Zaragoza suffered a defeat against Eibar on the 11th of February with the score of 0:1. Eibar holds the second position in the league table, consistently demonstrating their high status. They have played 26 matches, achieved 13 victories and garnered 45 points. Zaragoza remains in a lacklustre 12th position in the championship. They've battled through 26 matches, achieved 9 victories and [as a result] have 36 points to their name. Zaragoza's record in the Segunda consists of 2 victories and 2 draws in their last 5 matches. Current form of Cartagena Cartagena secured a significant victory against the team Mirands with a score of 1:0 in their last match, which occurred on the 11th of February. The solitary goal of the match was scored at the 34th minute, courtesy of Poveda. At present, Cartagena holds the 17th position in the Segunda Divisin table for the 2023/2024 season. The team managed to clinch 7 victories, suffered 12 defeats, and recorded 7 draws from 26 matches with a goal difference of 26:36. Their total points tally is 28. In the last 5 matches, Cartagena has shown good form, with 4 victories and 2 draws. Mirands, meanwhile, holds the 14th spot in the league table. After 26 matches, Mirands has clinched 8 victories and suffered 9 defeats, accumulating a total of 33 points. Prediction for the Zaragoza - Cartagena match The odds hardly match the teams' current positions in the table. Cartagena, who achieved 4 victories in their last 5 matches, clearly look to have the upper hand over Zaragoza. My wager is on a positive handicap for Cartagena.

On Friday, 16th February, within the framework of the 25th round of the Spanish Primera, "Villarreal" will host "Getafe" on their pitch. The visitors, occupying the 10th place in the league table, achieved a home success 3:2 against "Celta" a week ago, while "yellow submarine" is running 13th in the overall standing with 25 points earned. Predicted Lineups "Villarreal":Jorgensen; Femenia, Albiol, Mosquera, Cuenca; Akhomach, Comesana, Coquelin, Baena; G Moreno, Sorloth."Getafe":Soria; Dakonam, Alvarez, Alderete, Rico; Greenwood, Maksimovic, Milla, Martin; Mata, Mayoral. Stadium The clash will take place in Villarreal at the Ceramica Stadium. "Villarreal" Under Marcelino's helm, the "yellow submarine" may not be participating in the race for European zone entry, but is gradually recovering after a disastrous first half of the season. The hosts have remained undefeated in their previous four Primera rounds, although the team has drawn with relegation-threatened "Cadiz" (0:0) and "Alaves" (1:1) in the last two matches. As a result of such outcomes, the hosts are 13 points behind sixth-placed "Betis", and a full 21 points behind "Athletic Bilbao". However, qualification for the Champions League is still achievable through the Europa League, as the Spanish team progressed to the tournament's last 16 and can focus solely on domestic matters until March. "Villarreal" has only won three out of 12 home matches in the current campaign, scoring 18 and conceding 22 goals. Additionally, alongside the lack of successful results on the field, the club's infirmary is overflowing. "Getafe" Based in the outskirts of Madrid, "Getafe" was considered a relegation contender at the start of the season, but now the "Azulones" are demonstrating character and, at times, entertaining their fans. The visitors are only five points behind the European zone-dwelling "Betis", surely dreaming of entering the top six. Last weekend, "Getafe" hosted "Celta", who faced a late comeback victory (3:2), courtesy of a 89th-minute goal by Jaime Mata, a week after a successful draw with "Betis" (1:1) at the Benito Villamarn Stadium. Thus, Jose Bordalas' charges have won eight matches and drawn nine, amping up a tally of 33 points in total 25 rounds. It's worth mentioning that the Madrileos finished fifth in the 2018/19 campaign, but ended up in 15th place in each of the three previous Primera games. However, "Getafe's" away performance leaves much to be desired, accumulating a meagre nine points in 12 matches, with 18 goals scored and 23 conceded. The recipe for "Getafe's" success lies in their physical strength and athletic players who rarely get injured. Head-to-Head The capital club has not beaten "Villarreal" in the Spanish championship since January 2019 and has suffered defeat on each of the last four visits to the "yellow submarine". The first round match ended goalless. "Villarreal" vs "Getafe" Match Prediction No La Liga team this season has drawn more away games than "Getafe" (six). "Villarreal" continues to struggle, failing to string together a winning streak for their fans - the hosts have drawn three times in their last four rounds. Considering the defensive-minded style of both teams, it seems reasonable to back a stalemate this Friday. Total Goals Prediction Neither team is renowned for their attacking approach and will first and foremost ensure they are sound defensively. Betting on a total of less than 3 goals seems reasonable. Corner Prediction I expect a lot of midfield battles and minimal dangerous opportunities for both teams - my prediction is for a total of less than 9.5 corners. Yellow Card Prediction "Getafe" is one of the most fouling teams in Primera, with "Azulones" earning almost 4 bookings per match on average. I would bet on the visitors winning the yellow card count. Score Prediction My prediction is for a final score of 1:1.

Today as part of the Spanish La Liga's 24th round, Almeria will face off against Athletic Bilbao on home turf. The visiting team currently sits in fifth place in the league table, having racked up 45 points, while the home team remains rooted at the bottom, a daunting 14 points away from the safety zone, having not yet claimed a single victory in this season's campaign Almeria This season, Almeria has yet to secure a victory in La Liga, and most of the club's supporters harbour no doubt that their team is on the verge of dropping back down to the Segunda Division. Although mathematically speaking, Almeria still has a chance to retain their spot in the elite division, in reality, such an outcome seems highly implausible. Over the past weekend, the Andalusian club suffered a third consecutive defeat at the hands of Valencia (2:1), having previously lost at home to Alaves (0:3) and out at Santiago Bernabeu to Real Madrid (3:2). The team is currently trailing Mallorca, who sit 17th in the standings, by 14 points and their defensive performance attests to the fact that theirs is the poorest in the league having conceded 51 goals. Injured with a broken ankle, Kone will sit out the upcoming matches, as will Luis Suarez, who is injured again (fractured fibula for the second time this season). Leo Baptistao (4 goals in La Liga this season) will be disqualified due to a red card in the previous round, while defenders Cesar Montes and Radovanovic (new signing from Kortrijk) have questionable fitness. Sergio Arribas (on loan from Real Madrid) has scored 6 goals in La Liga and is likely to make the starting lineup. Transfer news includes Brazilian centre-back Lazaro joining Palmeiras on loan in early February, while Kaiki (8 appearances in the first half of the season) moved to Albacete and Sergio Akieme to Reims. Athletic Athletic Bilbao is a direct contender striving to earn a Champions League spot and currently sits fifth in the league table. Last Wednesday, the Basques delivered Atletico Madrid their first defeat of the season at Wanda Metropolitano in the first leg of the Copa del Rey semi-final (0:1), securing real chances of progressing to the final - Alex Berenguer bagged the lone goal. The January transfer window saw no significant squad changes for Athletic Bilbao. Iaki Williams (8 goals, 3 assists in La Liga), Guruzeta (9 goals, 2 assists) and Berenguer (4 league goals) are all expected to take to the field from the outset and will be responsible for the attacking creativity. However, there remains some uncertainty about Nico Williams (3 goals, 6 assists in the league), who was absent in last Wednesday's cup clash due to injury. If he hasn't fully recovered by Monday, the starting lineup is likely to feature Iker Muniain; the experienced forward came off the bench in the last round and scored against Mallorca. Defensive solidity will once again be provided by centre-backs Yeray and Paredes. Head-to-Head Almeria has lost all five of their most recent La Liga matches against Athletic, including a 3:0 defeat in the first leg. Match prediction Almeria - Athletic The whole of Spain is asking the question: Who will be the first to capitulate against Almeria this season? Judging by Athletic's current form, it is hard to envision a Basque fiasco on the upcoming Monday. As they fight for a spot in the Champions League quarterfinals, the visitors simply can't afford any slip-ups against outsiders - especially given that Almeria has personnel problems and has suffered three defeats in a row. I predict a Lions' victory. Total prediction In all four of their previous head-to-head matches, Athletic consistently managed to score at least two goals. Given the home team's defensive difficulties, I expect this trend to continue.

On Sunday, the 11th of February, as part of the 24th round of the Spanish Primera, "Sevilla" will host Madrid's "Atletico" on their home field. On Wednesday evening, Diego Simeone's team succumbed at home to "Athletic" from Bilbao with a score of 0:1 in the first match of the Copa del Rey semi-finals, whereas the hosts achieved a morale-boosting success 1:2 over "Rayo Vallecano" a week ago. Predicted Line-ups "Sevilla":Nyland; Navas, Bade, Ramos, Acuna; Suso, Sow, Soumare, Ocampos; En-Nesyri, Romero."Atletico":Oblak; Savic, Witsel, Hermoso; Molina, De Paul, Koke, Llorente, Lino; Griezmann, Morata. Stadium The clash will take place in Sevilla at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium. "Sevilla" "Sevilla" is frankly failing this campaign and is probably mentally preparing for the new season. The team only sits 15th in the Primera standings, outstripping relegation zone dweller "Cadiz" by only three points. In the last two rounds, the "Pizjun" did not lose and even snatched a hard-fought victory over "Rayo Vallecano" just last weekend (1:2). For Kike Flores's proteges, it was their first victory in La Liga since mid-December and only their fourth overall since the start of the season, signaling an apparent crisis within the red-and-white ranks. The hosts face a challenging task in the upcoming few weeks: in their next four rounds, they will encounter "Atletico", "Valencia", Madrid's "Real" and "Real Sociedad", giving real prospects of slipping into the relegation zone. In recent developments, winger Suso (1 goal, 3 assists) was sent off in a match against "Osasuna" in the championship, served his suspension and may return to the pitch from this encounter. "Atletico" After knocking "Real Madrid" out of the Round of 16 of the Copa del Rey (4:2) and then drawing 1:1 in the championship at the Santiago Bernabeu last weekend thanks to a late goal by Marcos Llorente, "Atletico Madrid" for the first time this season succumbed at the Wanda Metropolitano to "Athletic Bilbao" in the first match of the Copa del Rey semi-finals (0:1) this week. Sitting in just 4th place in the domestic championship table, the capital club is under threat of missing out on Champions League qualification. Lagging 13 points behind Madrid's "Real", the "mattress-makers" also have no chance of clinching the title. The capital squad still has two championship matches to play before heading to Milan to face "Inter" in the first match of the Champions League Round of 16 on February 20th. Head-to-head encounters The first round of the championship match between these teams was postponed to the end of December, when "Atletico" won 1:0. On January 25th, "Sevilla" was also knocked out of the final of the Copa del Rey by the "mattress-makers" (1:0). "Sevilla" vs "Atletico" Match Prediction "Sevilla" is having a difficult season, and despite the support of the home fans, it's unlikely to halt an "Atletico" side keenly vying for a top-four spot. The visitors are not only eager to redeem themselves before their fans after the disappointing Copa del Rey semi-final, but they are also almost free of squad problems all their attacking leaders are fit to play. My prediction is an "Atletico" victory with a handicap of 0. Over/Under Prediction "Sevilla" have scored 16 goals in 12 home games, whereas "Atletico" also concede nearly a goal per away match. My prediction is "both teams to score". Corner Prediction "Sevilla" takes almost 6 corners per match and will be playing at home the hosts will do everything possible to crack the compact defence of the Madrid team (individual total corners over 4.5). Yellow Card Prediction "Sevilla" earns almost 3 warnings per game, the visitors around 2.2. So, confidently bet on the total number of yellow cards over 4.5. Score Prediction I'll go for a precise score of 1:2 in favour of "Atletico".

Today at 20:30 GMT, a match between the teams of Eibar and Zaragoza will take place within the Spanish Segunda. Current form of Eibar Eibar continues to demonstrate stability and good results in the current season of the Segunda. At the moment, they occupy the second place in the league table. In the last match against Racing Ferrol, Eibar managed to gain a draw with a score of 1:1.As per the current championship, Eibar has 42 points after 25 matches played in the tournament. They have achieved 12 victories, faced 7 defeats, and 6 draws, the team scored 41 goals and conceded 30. Racing Ferrol holds the third position in the table with the same point tally - 42. They have shown 11 wins, 5 defeats, and are displaying good form this season. Current form of Zaragoza Zaragoza defeated Sporting Gijn with a score of 3:0 in the last match on 5th February. Zaragoza holds the 10th position in the league table of the Segunda Divisin championship, after 25 matches played. The team has 9 victories, 7 defeats, and 9 draws with a goal difference of 27:22, and currently, they have amassed 36 points. The team's form in the last 5 matches: 2 victories and 3 draws. Sporting Gijn is in the 7th position in the table after 25 matches played. They have 10 wins and 6 defeats, accumulating 39 points. Forecast for the Eibar - Zaragoza match According to the recent successful matches, I place my bet on the total goals over 2, Eibar has 7 goals in the last 4 matches, while Zaragoza has scored 8 goals in the past 5 rounds.

Today during the 24th round of the Spanish Primera, Barcelona will play host to Granada. Xavi's team is currently at the third position in the league table, trailing 11 points behind the leading Real Madrid, while Granada is battling for survival at the 19th position. Predicted Line-ups: Barcelona: Ter Stegen; Kound, Araujo, I. Martinez, Cancelo; F. de Jong, Christensen, Gndogan; Jamal, Lewandowski, Pedri. Granada: Batalha; Sanchez, Mendes, Mikel, Maouassa; Pellistri, Melendo, Hongla, Ruiz, Neva; Arezo. Barcelona After emerging as Spanish champions following a four-year gap, Barcelona once again finds themselves in a crisis, fighting for podium position following a period of poor results including draws against Mallorca, Rayo Vallecano, and Granada, as well as the embarrassing home defeat at the hands of Villarreal (3:5). Subsequent to their Copa del Rey quarter-final exit at the hands of Athletic Bilbao, Xavi announced his departure at the end of the season. Trailing 11 points behind Real Madrid in the league, the Blaugrana can now only fight for one trophy - the Champions League (where they will face Napoli in the playoffs). However, the past weekend saw Barcelona claim all three points in their away match against a tough Alaves side (3:1), a mere few days after their hard-fought 1-0 victory over Osasuna. Despite a substitution, a scored goal and a red card within just 13 minutes against Pamplona, Vitor Rke will not be available tonight due to disqualification. The striker who arrived from Brazilian Atletico Paranaense this winter, has joined the list of unavailable team members, which includes Joo Flix (injured), Marc Giu (injured), winger Rafinha (3 goals, 5 assists in LaLiga), Marcos Alonso (lower-back surgery), Gavi and Balde (out until the end of the season), Ferran Torres (7 goals in LaLiga). Doubts persist over Sergi Roberto, Ter Stegen (due to return soon) and Joo Cancelos respective fitness levels. The starting eleven is getting rather dull for Barcelona due to assortment of absentees: Lewandowski (9 goals, 5 assists in La Liga), Pedri, Gndogan (5 goals, 5 assists) and Frenkie de Jong will most certainly start the match. Granada Granada, the reigning Segunda champion, are having a hard time in their present campaign at Spains elite level. The Andalusians have been in the relegation zone for several months and currently trail by eight points against 17th placed Mallorca. The task of saving themselves looks difficult but achievable; however, the burgundy-whites need to start winning as up until now, the visitors have won only one match out of the latest 20 in the league. Last weekend Granada finally put an end to their losing streak of three consecutive defeats by drawing with Las Palmas (1:1). It's hardly a surprise that Alexandra Medina's charges are penultimate in the overall rankings for away points (amassing just 1 point from 11 stages). During the last transfer window, Granada lost Brian Saragosa (6 goals in La Liga), who just recently joined Bayern Munich. The Andalusian club signed Facundo Pellistri from Manchester United on loan to fill the void left by the centre-forward. In the meantime, Granada's midfielder Shawn Weissman who was in dire need of playing time, has moved to Salernitana, while the young Canadian Corbeanu transferred to Wolverhampton. Lech's Polak Kamil Piatkowski has been dismissed from a match against Las Palmas and will miss the trip to Barcelona. The same can be said about midfielder Villar, who wracked up too many yellow cards. On top of that, Argentine forward Lucas Boje is injured, as are Ral Fernndez (backup goalkeeper), Vctor Daz (only four appearances this season), and Vallejo (on loan from Real Madrid for the season). Head to head All of the last three face-to-face matches between these teams ended in a draw. The Catalans' last success against Granada dates back to January 2021 when they thrashed the Andalusians by 4 goals. Prediction for Barcelona - Granada Although winning the title seems unlikely, Barcelona needs to improve their results if they want to finish in the Champions League quartet. It is clear that dropping points in a home game against sinking Granada is not on Xavi's agenda, regardless of the form his players are in. Not expecting any surprises here and back the favourite to win with a -1.5 handicap.
