Real Sociedad - Las Palmas predictions and free betting tips [04/05/2024]

On Saturday, 4th May, as part of the 34th tour of the Spanish La Liga, 'Real Sociedad' will host 'Las Palmas' at their home grounds. The hosts are positioned sixth in the league table, leading by two points over the following 'Betis', whereas 'the Islanders' are in the 14th position, 11 points away from the relegation zone.

The team from San Sebastian is in 6th place in the league table and might contend for a place in the Europa League; although Real Sociedad is just two points ahead of Betis, who are seventh, with Valencia only four points behind them which could alter the league positions significantly in the next couple of tours. I must note that Imanol's crew has only managed to win six out of the 16 home matches this season, making this only the tenth overall tally. 

'Las Palmas'

'Las Palmas' spent the majority of this season far from the relegation zone, but they seemed to have lost steam towards the end of the campaign. Despite having 37 points and currently at the 14th position in the overall tally, 'the Islanders' are still 9 points ahead of Cadiz, who are positioned 18th. Nevertheless, the yellow-blues are still accustomed to a terrible string of six consecutive La Liga defeats, with the last one occurring this past weekend against ‘Girona’ (0:2), following mishaps with ‘Celta’ (4:1), ‘Sevilla’ (0:2), ‘Barcelona’ (1:0), ‘Almeria’ (0:1), and ‘Athletic Bilbao’ (0:2). Keep in mind, the visitors are only placed 13th in the table for points collected away from their home grounds (15 in 16 away matches, 13 goals scored, 24 conceded).

In the first leg of this season, 'Las Palmas' managed a goalless draw with 'Real Sociedad' at home, but since March 2016, they have been unable to defeat the Basques in the Spanish Championship.

'Las Palmas' is finishing the season without any tournament tasks, having lost any motivation, it carries a series of six losses in a row. In the home match against Madrid's 'Real' (0:1), 'Sociedad' looked very worthy and had to collect points but missed in execution. The hosts are battling for a finish in the Eurocups zone and have no rights to lose points in the home match with the mid-board team, so my bet is for 'Real Sociedad' to win, covering the spread -1.

Prediction for Total 

The visitors have scored only one goal in the last six tours, and it's unlikely that they will have a scoring spree this Saturday against the composed defense of 'Sociedad'. So my bet is on 'both teams to score: no'.

Prediction for Corners 

The hosts, supported by their fans, will take the lead and start attacking the opponent's goal quickly. Hence, my bet goes to the Basques winning the first half, covering the spread -1.5.
