Celta Vigo - Almeria predictions and free betting tips [01/03/2024]

On Friday, March 1, as part of the 27th round of the Spanish Primera, "Celta" will host "Almeria" on their home ground. The visitors have drawn their last three matches and are at the bottom of the table, while the "Celts" are 17th overall and are just three points ahead of the relegation zone.

"Celta"

Just as in the last season, "Celta" is fighting to stay in the elite and holds a worrying 17th place in the standings. Fortunately for the team's fans, those down below "Cadiz", "Granada", and, above all, "Almeria" appear to be so weak that their constant failures allow the "Celts" to stay out of the relegation zone. Nevertheless, the Galicians have won only one of their last seven league games, and last weekend Rafa Benitez's charges drew with "Cadiz" (2:2), although they could have achieved more.

Until midway through the second half, the sky blues were leading by two goals, but Juanmi made it 2:1, and Darwin Machis restored parity on the scoreboard on the 10th (!) minute of added time. However, this draw ended two defeat streaks - from "Getafe" (3:2) and "Barca" (1:2). It is important to note that the team from Vigo is the third from the bottom in La Liga in terms of home performances, having gained only 10 points in 13 home games, scoring a mere nine goals. 

"Almería"

With eleven rounds left to the end of the championship, "Almeria" can still mathematically survive, but for that the Stripes will need a miracle: they have yet to secure a single win in the championship since the start of the season and have thrice drawn in a row. The recent one occurred last weekend (2:2) with Madrid's "Atletico", and Luka Romero, who joined the club on loan from "Milan" in January, scored a brace; previously, they had to split points with "Granada" and "Athletic Bilbao".

As a result, after 26 rounds of the national championship, the Stripes are at the very bottom of the table, 12 points adrift of the safety zone. No wonder "Almeria" has the worst away record in the division this season, Garitano's wards managed to scrape just two points in 13 away matches, scoring 13 and conceding 31. 

Head-to-Head

"Almeria" failed to snatch a draw in the exciting first-round match (2:3 defeat). The last time the Stripes triumphed over the "Celts" was way back in 2014.

Match Prediction for "Celta" vs. "Almería"

The match will be of utmost importance for both teams in the survival battle. "Almeria" still has mathematical chances of salvation after a 2:2 draw with "Atletico", while it is vital for "Celta" to accumulate points and create a gap from the trailing "Cadiz". However, it should be taken into account that Garitano's charges perform poorly away from home - I do not expect a sensation here and put my money on the home team's victory.

Total Prediction

Even without the suspended Aspas, "Celta" has someone to score - the good thing is that the visitors concede an average of 2.5 goals per away game. My prediction is an individual total for "Celts" over 1.5 goals.

Corner Prediction

"Celta", backed by their home fans, will play as number one, while "Almeria" is relying solely on counterattacks. We confidently bet on a victory by the hosts in corners.

Yellow Card Prediction

The match is of the utmost importance from the tournament perspective for both teams, which means players will not spare themselves in tackles. I am betting on total yellow cards over 3.5.
