On Saturday 13 January, as part of the 20th round of the Spanish Primera, Las Palmas will play Villarreal on their home ground. The yellow and blue have been struggling in recent weeks and have been without a win in four straight matches in all competitions. In contrast, at home, Las Palmas has scored ten goals in nine rounds and conceded seven.

Villarreal

Villarreal once again upset their fans, crashing out of the last 16 of the Copa del Rey against third-division side Unionistas (1:1). The "Yellow Submarine" is having a very tough time this season in La Liga where they currently sit 13th in the table, trailing the European spots by a whopping 13 points. And like Las Palmas, they lost their last league match against Valencia (3:1) and have only won one of their last five La Liga matches (3 losses, 1 draw).

However, the visitors clinched a place in the last 16 of the Europa League, so they have until March to focus on their domestic campaign. On the road, Marcelino's charges have picked up a mere nine points from as many games, scoring ten goals and conceding 17. Villarreal will be without experienced central defender Raul Albiol, who was injured in the match against Valencia and did not participate in the Copa del Rey.
