On Saturday, 22 June at 14:00 the Nations League volleyball match between France and Japan will take place.
The French team currently holds the fifth position in the standings, but their performance could be better. Their results, while generally decent, suggest that they are not putting their all into the game. The defeat by Germany (1:3) seems to have shaken the team a bit, as today they came together and decisively defeated Iran (3:0).
Japan's situation is quite similar. Yes, the Japanese are confidently earning points, but there is still a slight lack of stability. They lost to Canada (2:3) despite being huge favourites at 1.15, but then effortlessly defeated the Netherlands (3:0).
Since 2022, the teams have met four times. France has won three times (3:2, 3:0, 3:0), while Japan has one victory (3:1).
The odds reflect the current forms of the teams accurately. I also think that these teams are currently on par with each other, and predicting a winner is like flipping a coin. I'll take a risk here and go for handicap Japan by sets (+1), as I expect a closely contested match.
