In the fourth round of the US Open on hard court, two Americans, Tommy Paul and Ben Shelton, will face off. We're setting a bet on Paul's victory with a handicap of -3.5 games.

On Wimbledon in early July, Tommy overcame Mochizuki and Raonic, but lost to Lehecka. During the Eastbourne tournament, he reached the final by taking down Baez, Wolf and Barrere but fell to Cerundolo in the finals. At the London tournament, Paul successfully passed two qualifying rounds, defeating Daniel and Harris, but was beaten by Cerundolo in the main draw.
In three previous tournaments, Paul couldn't advance past the first round, beating Bonzi in Stuttgart, Stricker at the French Open, and Barrere in Lyon. However, he subsequently lost to Struff, Harris and Nakashima. This season, Paul also reached the finals in clay Challengers in Provençal and hard court tournament in Acapulco. He managed to reach the semi-final in the Australian Open.
20-year-old Ben Shelton, ranked 47th in the world tennis rankings, claimed three victories in the US Open. He impressively defeated Kachanov with a score of 1:6, 6:3, 6:2, 6:4 in the first match, followed by Tim who retired mid-play with a score of 7:6 (7:1), 1:0 in Shelton's favour. Subsequently, Ben managed to take care of Karatsev with a score of 6:4, 3:6, 6:2, 6:0. In Cincinnati, he also showcased good play, beating Eubanks with a score of 5:7, 6:4, 6:4, but subsequently lost to Tsitsipas 6:7 (3:7), 6:7 (2:7).
Previously, Shelton struggled, losing 10 out of 13 matches. In Toronto, he defeated Zapata Miralles but lost to Alcaraz, and he didn't make it past the first round in Washington and Atlanta, falling to Shaan. On Wimbledon, Shelton got the win over Daniel but then lost to Djere. Similarly, in London, he passed Wolf but fell to Musetti. Earlier in May, Shelton went on a losing streak, falling in four straight matches. At both the French Open and tournaments in Geneva and Rome, he was knocked out in the first round, losing to Sonego, Cecchinato, and Bublik.
In the Challenger in Cagliari, Ben managed to reach the semi-final, overcoming Marozsan and Zeppieri but succumbed to Djere. Shelton could not advance to the second round except at the Australian Open in January, where he surprisingly made it to the quarter-finals, defeating Zhang, Harry, Popyrin, and Wolf, but was defeated by Paul in four sets.
The athletes met on 25th January in the Australian Open on a hard court, the match concluded with Paul's victory with a score of 7:6 (8:6), 6:3, 5:7, 6:4.
Paul is having a stable season and feels comfortable on the hard court, in contrast, Shelton, who is class inferior and has only been performing well in Challengers. I believe in the upcoming match, Paul will secure the victory; hence, I'm placing my bet on him.
