On 13th February, in League 1, England's third-tier, Charlton will play Lincoln at The Valley Stadium. Let's take a look at the state of the teams and try to make a decision to help increase our bankroll.
The iconic team which spent the early 21st century in the Premier League. Only then followed a relegation to Championship and further to League 1. Since then, Charlton has been alternating between League 1 and Championship, having made it to the second-tier twice in 10 years. Last season, the team settled for 10th place in the league table. Right now, they are in 20th position.
In the 27th round, they lost to Burton Albion (0:2). In the next game, the team suffered a defeat from Northampton (2:3). After that, they had a draw with Blackpool (1:1). Then they lost to Derby County by a minimal score. Lastly, the team suffered a defeat against Reading (0:2).
The "Imps" slowly manoeuvre between divisions. Last year the lads showed mediocre results, which resulted in 11th place. Currently, they are in 10th place in the league table.
In the 27th match of the season, they ended their losing streak with a draw against Wycombe (1:1). Then they had a goalless draw with Derby County. In the next round they again drew with Peterborough (0:0). After that, they finally managed to secure a win, beating Burton Albion by a minimal score. In their last match, they beat Fleetwood Town (2:1).
The last face-off between Charlton and Lincoln happened on 24 October 2023. That match ended in a victory for the "Imps" (3:1).
In this match-up, I would suggest betting on the visitors. Charlton is losing almost every match right now, so I don't believe they can earn points on their home pitch. Besides, Lincoln has looked pretty sound in recent games.
I think the teams will not show a high-scoring game, so I suggest betting on under 2.5 total.
