In the capital of Croatia, an intriguing match will take place between Dynamo Zagreb and Real Betis. The first match of the encounter was claimed by Sergey Jakirovich's team; the Spaniards had the upper hand, but the "Blues" created a single good moment that led to a penalty, confidently executed by Bruno Petkovic. The return match will surely not be dull, and it is interesting to see how the Dynamo Zagreb will play, having slight advantage after travelling to Seville.
In Croatia top tier, the Blues have been struggling, currently placing third behind Rijeka and Hajduk. This situation is not sitting well with Sergey Jakirovich who expects improvement.
While on the other hand, Conference League is no less important, but Dynamo Zagreb will have to spread their forces evenly between their native league and playoff games.
Unlike Jakirovich's team, the Spaniards earned the goal in Xg, but often shots by Betis' players were off the mark, hence the 0:1 in favour of the Croats who earned a penalty and that's all there was. Baturina looked bleak, Dynamo Zagreb’s flanks showed no effective runs into the penalty area.
The Croatian team have a good lineup, although with a number of injuries. This year, Bosko Shutalo has not yet played centre-back and Mahir Emreli is also absent, but there is a replacement - Arber Hodzha, who plays on the left flank. So far, Martin Baturina is not impressive, apparently the excessive offers from many top clubs have had an impact. Bruno Petkovic is fine, and Japanese Takuro Kaneko dominates on the right flank, acting as a regular midfielder.
Dynamo Zagreb is a minor favourite against Real Betis after the first match, but in the return game, smart defence is necessary to prevent goals from the Spanish team, as well as scoring their own goals at home.
In La Liga, Manuel Pellegrini's players have another chance to get into the European group, but for this they need to outperform Real Sociedad, which is slightly ahead on the 6th line allowing to get into the Champions League qualification.
At the same time, they need to strive to play confidently in the current Conference League, but Real Betis is very unpredictable this season, so one should not count on them going to the 1/8 finals after losing to Dynamo Zagreb in the first game. After the (0:1) with the Croats, Betis held a match with Alaves, where they failed to score goals, but Pellegrini's players had the advantage in ball possession, which did not bring any dividends to the Sevillians.
Real Betis have a solid lineup, albeit not very expensive. Other than striker William Jose and fast Isco, there's no one else of note. Manuel Pellegrini sets good team football for Real Betis, where there are few soloists and everything is based on team interactions.
For the Spaniards, it will be difficult to outplay a well-formed and balanced team from Zagreb. Betis need a win, so they will have to direct all attacking resources ahead, not forgetting about defence.
The first match did not go well for Real Betis, and Dynamo Zagreb cannot be overly praised, but the 1-0 in favour of the Croats is a problem for the Spaniards.
The match in Spain was tightly contested. If Betis manages to play in the same manner, we may not see high-scoring football from Dynamo Zagreb again. The team from Seville is better off not conceding, so my bet goes to individual total under 1 (1,5), naturally hoping for the football set by Betis who need a victory, any at all.
