On Friday a Russian Super League match for the 13th-16th places will take place between Ural and Yugra-Samotlor.
The team from Ufa is placed thirteenth in the tournament table and their form began to dip as the season draws to a close. In the previous five matches, they beat Dinamo LO 3:0 and Novosibirsk's Locomotive 3:2, which is impressive. They lost to Belogorie 1:3, St. Petersburg's Zenit 2:3 and Moscow's Dinamo 0:3, but it should be noted that all these opponents are of a very high level. In the current season, the club's tally is at ten victories and twenty defeats.
The lads are currently at the bottom of the Super League ratings. The team's performance has not been up to scratch. In recent matches, they suffered defeats from Moscow's Dinamo 0:3, Kazan's Zenit 0:3, Novy 1:3 and Soligorsk's Shakhtar 0:3, only defeating Nefteyanyk 3:2 in a very close confrontation. Out of 30 encounters, the team has managed just five victories against twenty-five defeats.
Since 2022, the teams have faced each other five times. Yugra-Samotlor holds three victories (3:1, 3:1, 3:2), while Ural has two (3:0, 3:0).
For me, Ural is undoubtedly the favourite here. I just can't see how Yugra-Samotlor can seize the initiative in this match. I'd simply opt for a bet on a win for Urals handicap (-1,5) by sets at odds of 1.66, which is a decent return, even considering Ural's less than stellar form.
