On hard courts, he reached the semi-finals of two ATP 250 tournaments, although these aren’t the achievements Ćorić is aiming for—he is interested in significant accolades rather than local successes.

This year, Borna played well at a Belgian Challenger, reaching the final but losing to Leandro Riedl. He also made it to the final of the indoor ATP 250 tournament in Montpellier, where Alexander Bublik outplayed him. On clay, Ćorić participated in all major tournaments but didn't progress beyond the second round.

The match against Gasquet won't be troublesome for Ćorić if the Frenchman doesn't technically outplay him and if Ćorić avoids errors like those against Jack Draper in Rome or his failure to overcome Alexander Zverev in the Madrid Masters.
