On 3rd February in League 1, England's third-tier division, Cheltenham will play against Wycombe at Whaddon Road Stadium
They wrapped up the previous season in the third division in 16th place. However, they presently occupy the 22nd position, which, at this point, assures their relegation to League 2.
In the 23rd round, they had a draw against Reading (2:2). Subsequently, they suffered a narrow defeat against Northampton. In the following match, the guys unexpectedly defeated Portsmouth (2:1). After then, Cheltenham succumbed to Bolton (0:1). And in the last round, they succumbed to Derby County (1:2).
A relatively unknown team that spent most of its time in League 2. The team managed to finish third in the fourth division in the 2017/2018 season and moved up to League 1. After that, the team's success didn't come to an end as they won the League 1 playoffs a year later and promoted to the Championship for the first time. However, they returned to League 1 after a season, finishing only in 9th place.
At the moment, Wycombe is losing ground, ranking 19th in the league table. In the 24th round, Wycombe defeated Bristol (3:2). In the next game, they had a draw against Burton (1:1). After that, the guys played to a draw against Lincoln (1:1). Then, they suffered a narrow defeat to Wigan. In the latest match, they again had a draw with Fleetwood (2:2).
The last face-off between Cheltenham and Wycombe was on 29 April 2023. That game ended with a confident victory for Cheltenham (3:0).
Cheltenham is currently pleasing with their quite decent form, which might help them get out of the relegation zone. Wycombe, however, continues to progressively drop in the league table. I believe a good option here would be to bet on a Cheltenham victory, as they play quite well at home.
