Despite their defeat to Norwich City, the fate of Ipswich Town in the championship depends solely on them. In their endeavour to retain their second place, they will host Watford on Wednesday evening, who are virtually devoid of tournament motivation. However, the visitors are on an unbeaten streak of four matches.
Though the hosts lost to 'Norwich' in the last round, they managed to win nine of their last eleven matches, worthy only of praise. The competition, at least with 'Leeds United' at the finish, will be heated, so there's no letting up. Kieran McKenna may opt for youth and speed over experience, and launch Al-Hamadi in attack, thus leaving Kieffer Moore as the joker on the bench.
The visitors have only won two games out of the last 14 matches, but are on the rise following the appointment of Tom Cleverley as head coach. It's expected that the same players who clashed with Preston will take to the field.
The visitors' last victories were over a very weak 'Rotherham' and a recently struggling 'Birmingham'. It's hard to imagine what novice Tom Cleverley can counterpose to the powerful attack of 'Ipswich'. The hosts should pull out all the stops and score a lot of goals here.
