In a bid to move further away from the relegation zone, Queens Park Rangers will host Middlesbrough at their home ground on Saturday afternoon. While the hosts are on a decent unbeaten streak, the visitors finally claimed victory in their last outing, at home against Norwich City.
It's fair to say that Marti Sifuentes has nearly worked a miracle: 18 points from the last nine games and QPR is now a point ahead of the relegation zone, which seemed impossible not long ago. Since Sifuentes' arrival, they've amassed 31 points from 22 matches, the ninth-best record in the Championship. Despite all this, the team could still end up back in the relegation zone if they falter. Jack Colbeck is expected to return to the starting lineup following his suspension, while Ryan Colli will miss out due to injury.
As QPR gained momentum, Michael Carrick's team has lost nine of their last 17 matches, now trailing the play-off zone by 10 points. Considering the remaining fixtures, Boro does not claim anything, however, with a negative turn of events, they could be dragged into the relegation scrap.
Marti Sifuentes' men have found their rhythm and have been looking rather formidable lately. Boro, on the other hand, have been flagging, and their recent results have been the exact opposite. It's hard to predict exactly what we'll see today, but a handicap (0) on the hosts appears to be the safest option.
