On Tuesday, 11th June, a Friendly match between the national teams of Malta and Greece will take place.
There's not much to say about Malta. They completely botched their qualifiers, earning zero points and exiting disgracefully. In their last ten matches, they've managed just one victory against Gibraltar (1:0). A few days ago, they were thrashed by the Czech Republic (1:7). In the entire lineup, only Teddy Teuma from Reims stands out, though even he hasn't been in top form.
The Greeks delivered a stellar season at the club level this year; Olympiacos won the Conference League and looked fantastic. However, the national team failed to qualify for the Euro. In the play-offs, they were eliminated by Georgia (0:0, 4:2 on penalties). Their recent friendly against Germany ended in a narrow defeat (0:1), but surprisingly, Greece put up a strong fight and could have even won in Mönchengladbach. The visitors' squad isn't star-studded, but it's quite solid.
The last time the teams faced each other was in 2022, with the match ending in a 2:2 draw.
Greece pleasantly surprised in their last match, and if it weren't for Neuer, they would have won. Malta doesn't have such an omnipresent goalkeeper, so it's unlikely they'll avoid a rout. Take Handicap2 (-1,5).
