On Saturday, 8 June, a friendly football match between the national teams of Hungary and Israel will take place.
The Hungarian team is well-coordinated and had no trouble qualifying for the Euro. They were on a fourteen-match unbeaten streak, but they lost to Ireland (1:2) in a friendly match. I watched that game and can say that Hungary didn't lose their form and dominated the field most of the time. However, towards the end, they conceded a heartbreaking counterattack and lost. Overall, they were quite unlucky in that match.
The visitors won't be seen at the Euro; they lost to Iceland (1:4) in the playoff semifinals and will now compete in the Nations League. In their last five matches, they only secured a win against Andorra (2:0), lost to Romania (1:2) and Kosovo (0:1), and drew with Switzerland (1:1). Among the entire squad, only two players stand out: Zahavi and Oscar Gloukh from Salzburg.
The last time these teams faced each other was in 2012, resulting in a draw (1:1).
The Hungarians always perform excellently at home, and Israel is unlikely to put up a worthy resistance. I would back a straightforward win for Hungary at 1.60, or a win for Hungary with a total under 3 goals.
