On Friday, 7 June, a Friendly football match between the national teams of Scotland and Finland will take place.
The hosts made it to the Euros without much trouble, finishing second in their group, but their recent performances have been underwhelming. They managed a 2-0 win against Gibraltar, but many expected a blowout with a handicap of -3.5, which didn't come to fruition. Perhaps playing on home soil will help improve their game, but I have my doubts. The Scots clearly lack firepower in their attacking line.
Meanwhile, we won't see the visitors at the Euros as they were knocked out by Wales (1-4) in the play-offs. A couple of days ago, they faced Portugal and were defeated 2-4. Finland's conversion rate was spectacular: 2 shots, 2 on target, 2 goals by Pukki. However, they lack stability in defence.
The last time these teams met was in 1998, resulting in a 1-1 draw.
Both teams are experiencing tough times, and the coaching staffs have much work to do to improve their sides. I believe we are in for a closely contested match, but the Scots shouldn't disappoint their fans in Glasgow. I'll take a win1 odds, but it's likely to be a dull 1-0 affair.
