Dalić Explained the Reason for Croatia's Failures at Euro 2024

The head coach of the Croatian national team, Zlatko Dalić, summed up the match against the Italian national team at the 2024 European Football Championship.

"We conceded in the last minute against Albania, and again in the last minute today. I can only thank the guys for their fight, readiness, and the self-sacrifice they showed. It turns out, this is simply not our tournament. We performed well, especially in the first half. During the tournament, we conceded two penalties and two goals in added time, what can we do? We can't influence this, we just keep our composure. Thanks to those who supported us, I feel sorry for them the most," Dalić was quoted as saying by UEFA's official website.

The Croatian national team drew 1-1 with the Italian national team in the third round match of the group stage of the 2024 European Football Championship. After this match, the Croatian team finished in third place with 2 draws and 1 loss in three matches and a goal difference of 3-6. Thus, the Croats retained a theoretical chance of advancing to the playoffs from third place in the group.
