Italian coaches have achieved a unique milestone at the European Championship. For the first time in the tournament's history, more than two coaches of the same nationality have reached the knockout stage, reports Opta Sport.
In the tournament, four Italian specialists have led their teams to the Round of 16. Luciano Spalletti, along with Italy, scored four points and took second place in Group B. The Belgian team, led by Domenico Tedesco, finished second in Group E. Slovakia, under the leadership of Francesco Calzona, advanced to the playoffs from third place in Group E, and Turkey, managed by Vincenzo Montella, took second place in Group F.
The 2024 European Championship is being held in Germany from June 14 to July 14. Teams that finish first and second in the group stage, as well as the four best third-place teams, will advance to the Round of 16.
The reigning European champion is the Italian national team.
