Spain National Team Wins the Olympics in Paris

In the final match of the Olympic Games in Paris, the Spanish national team defeated the French team 5-3 in extra time.

French midfielder Enzo Millot opened the scoring in the 11th minute. Then, in the 18th and 25th minutes, forward Fermín López Martín scored twice, putting Spain ahead. Midfielder Álex Baena increased the lead in the 28th minute. In the 78th minute, the French midfielder reduced the deficit, and in the 93rd minute, Jean-Philippe Mateta equalized with a penalty, sending the game into extra time.

Sergio Camello scored the goal that secured Spain the gold medals of the Paris Olympics in the 100th minute. He scored again in the 121st minute.

It's worth noting that on July 28, 2024, Spain defeated France in the final of the UEFA European Under-19 Championship and became the tournament's winner. Earlier, the senior team also won the European Championship. Thus, this is the third tournament victory for Spain this summer.

The Olympic Games in Paris are being held from July 26 to August 11. Paris previously hosted the Summer Olympics in 1900 and 1924. After the conclusion of the Games, it will become the second city after London to have hosted the Summer Olympics three times.
