Manchester United Wants to Demolish Old Trafford Stadium

The management of England's Manchester United intends to demolish the club's Old Trafford stadium, reports the British publication BBC.

They plan to build a new arena with a capacity of 90,000 to 100,000 seats. This option is economically more advantageous than reconstructing the existing stadium. The construction of the new arena will cost 2.4 billion euros and is expected to be completed by 2030.

Old Trafford Stadium was opened in 1910. At that time, its construction cost 90,000 pounds sterling. Since then, the arena has been renovated eight times. The last modernization took place in 2006, bringing the stadium's capacity to 74,000 spectators. Old Trafford is the second largest stadium in England, second only to London's Wembley. However, it remains the largest club stadium in the country.
