On July 22, the 15th round match of the Norwegian championship was scheduled. The game between Lillestrøm and Rosenborg was interrupted due to fan protests against VAR.
The match took place in Trondheim. In the first half alone, referees had to stop the game four times. The first interruption occurred in the second minute when a fan threw fish cakes onto the field. Seven minutes later, the game resumed, but the protests continued. Fans then began throwing tennis balls and smoke bombs onto the field. Each time, the referees led the teams off the field.
After the players returned, fans once again started throwing various objects onto the field. The game was finally stopped with a score of 0:0.
In the spring of 2024, Sweden abandoned video reviews.
