England football team manager Gareth Southgate shared his thoughts on the importance of the European Championship cup.
"I definitely took on this job to try and help English football improve. I know what a victory would mean not just to the general public in England but especially to those involved in English football. I think we have elevated the stature of English football in terms of how it is perceived around the world," Southgate was quoted as saying by Sky News.
Earlier, the media reported that the Football Association of England plans to persuade national team manager Gareth Southgate to retain his position as head coach following Euro 2024. It was noted that Gareth will receive a knighthood if the English team wins the tournament. In the final, the Spanish team will compete for the trophy against the English team, with the match taking place on July 14 in Berlin.
