Brentford - Chelsea predictions and free betting tips [02/03/2024]

On Saturday, 2 February, as part of the 27th round of the Premier League, Brentford will be hosting Chelsea on their home turf. The Blues will attempt to take revenge on the Bees for their defeat in the first round at Stamford Bridge just a little over four months ago, while the hosts are in the midst of a crisis, having suffered three consecutive losses.

After suffering two consecutive round losses, the Blues defeated Crystal Palace in February (1:3) and managed to draw with Manchester City (1:1). Last weekend, Chelsea was disappointingly defeated by a semi-reserve Liverpool squad in the League Cup final (0:1 after extra time).

On the bright side, Mauricio Pochettino's charges secured their ticket to the quarterfinals of the FA Cup last Wednesday, overcoming Leeds United with a score of 3:2: Nicholas Jackson, Mikhail Mudrik and Connor Gallagher each scoring a goal. It won't likely surprise anyone that the visitors have had mediocre away performances in the current campaign: they've gathered a mere 17 points from 13 away matches, scored 22 goals, and conceded 23.

The Blues have won only one of their five Premier League encounters against Brentford – the lowest victory rate (20%) against any opponent they have met at least five times in the league competition.
