On Wednesday, 5 June, a friendly football match will take place between the national teams of Denmark and Sweden.
The hosts are now fully preparing for the upcoming Euro. They are quite good at delivering results and have only lost to Northern Ireland (0:2) in their last ten matches, which was a match with nothing at stake. They finished the qualifiers in first place. The Danes have a good, experienced squad that can aim for the playoffs, and no experimenting with players is expected in the friendly.
As for the Swedes, we won't see them at the Euro, but they have decent chances in the Nations League if they start playing more freely on the field. Sweden's squad is inferior to Denmark's, but they still have players who can score. In the previous five encounters, they defeated: Albania (1:0), Estonia (2:1, 2:0), but suffered sensational losses to Azerbaijan (0:3) and Portugal (2:5).
The last time the teams met was in 2020, when Denmark confidently secured a victory (2:0) without much trouble.
The Danes are rated as significant favourites, but this won't be an easy game for them. Although it's a friendly match, it remains a principled clash for both teams, as it's a Scandinavian derby. A draw seems more likely here.
