On Thursday the semi-final of the Italian Super League will kick off between Milan and Perugia.
Milan is currently ranked sixth on the league table and has been performing fairly consistently and confidently. So far, they are 1:2 against Perugia, but they managed to defeat Piacenza 3:2 in previous games, beating them 3:0 in the last match. In this season, the team has tallied twelve victories and ten losses.
Perugia, the visitors, are occupying the second spot in the Super League rating. In the previous round, they swept past Verona 3:0 in matches, demonstrating a quite high-level of football play. The club has won sixteen out of twenty-two league encounters and has suffered six defeats.
In 2024, the two teams have met five times. Milan emerged victorious twice (3:2, 3:2), while Perugia proved to be stronger on three occasions (3:1, 3:1, 3:2).
Despite bookmakers favouring the guests, I don't think it's going to be an easy stroll for them. Milan is a formidable opponent on their home turf and may well punish any underestimation. Perugia, after all, is not without its flaws. In this encounter, I would opt for a handicap 1 (+1.5) by sets, because I believe the hosts are capable of dictating their style of play.
