33-year-old Jan-Lennard, currently ranked 27th in the world, scored his first victory in the Basel tournament against Eubanks with a score of 7:6 (9:7), 6:4. Prior to this, the tennis player faced a streak of misfortune, having lost in five matches out of four. In Antwerp he lost to Gaston 7:5, 6:7 (5:7), 6:7 (11:13), in Shanghai to Arnaldi 3:6, 6:3, 4:6, in Beijing to Ruud 6:7 (5:7), 3:6, and in Zhuhai he overcame Garin 6:3, 1:6, 6:4, but lost to Nishioka 4:6, 5:7.

For three months, he was absent from tournaments and in June, in Halle, he claimed a victory over Safiullin with a score of 6:1, 7:6 (7:4), but lost to Bublik 3:6, 7:6 (7:4), 3:6. In Stuttgart he reached the final, beating Zhang 6:1, 6:4, Paul 7:6 (7:4), 7:6 (7:5), Gasquet 6:4, 7:5 and Hurkacz 3:6, 6:3, 6:3, but was defeated by Tiafoe 6:4, 6:7 (1:7), 6:7 (8:10). At the French Open, Struff failed to make it past the first round, suffering defeat at the hands of Lehetchka with a score of 5:7, 6:1, 3:6, 6:3, 1:6, while at the Challenger in Bordeaux he made it to the semifinals where he overcame Jakke 6:3, 6:3 and Mute 6:3, 6:2, however, he lost in the semifinals to Etcheverri 4:6, 2:6.

In early May, Jan-Lennard showcased a surefooted game in Madrid, where he claimed victories over Sonego, Shelton, Lajovic, Tsitsipas, and Karatsev. In the final, Struff managed to win one set against Alcaraz, but ultimately suffered a defeat with a score of 4:6, 6:3, 3:6. In April, the tennis player made it to the quarterfinals at the tournament in Monte Carlo, where he overcame Ramos, De Minaur, and Ruud, but then lost to Rublev. Jan-Lennard also managed to reach the semifinals at the Challengers in Phoenix, Manama, and Canberra.

Hubert Hurkacz

26-year-old Hubert, currently ranked 11th in the world, claimed his first victory in the Basel tournament against Lajovic with a score of 7:6 (7:2), 6:3. Earlier, the tennis player was defeated in the first round by Zhang 6:3, 4:6, 6:7 (4:7), but later won the title in Shanghai. During the tournament, he defeated Kokkinakis with a score of 7:6 (7:5), 6:4, Hsu 6:4, 6:4, Zhang 7:6 (8:6), 4:6, 7:6 (7:4), Marozjan 4:6, 6:1, 6:3, Korda 6:3, 6:4 and Rublev 6:3, 3:6, 7:6 (10:8). At the US Open, Hurkacz overcame Husler with a score of 4:6, 5:7, 7:6 (7:0), 6:3, 6:1, but lost to Draper 2:6, 4:6, 5:7 and in Cincinnati, where he made it to the semifinals, where he defeated Kokkinakis with a score of 7:6 (7:2), 3:6, 7:6 (7:1), Coric 5:7, 6:3, 6:3, Tsitsipas 6:3, 6:4 and Poppyrin 6:1, 7:6 (10:8). 

In Toronto, Hubert defeated Bublik 6:3, 7:6 (7:2) and Kecmanovic 5:7, 6:3, 6:0, but failed to get past Alcaraz, losing with a score of 6:3, 6:7 (2:7), 6:7 (3:7), while in Washington he was unfortunate, losing to Mmoh with a score of 3:6, 7:6 (7:4), 6:7 (4:7) in the first round. At Wimbledon, Hubert showed impressive game play in three matches, beating Ramos with a score of 6:1, 6:4, 6:4, Choinski 6:4, 6:4, 7:6 (7:3) and Musetti 7:6 (7:4), 6:4, 6:4, but in the subsequent rounds, he was defeated by Djokovic with a score of 6:7 (6:8), 6:7 (6:8), 7:5, 4:6.

Previously, in the Budlz Challenge, Hurkacz defeated Molchanov and in Halle he beat Eubanks, but lost to Griekspoor. In the first grass tournament of the season in Stuttgart, the tennis player made it to the semifinals, defeating Watanuki with a score of 4:6, 7:6 (7:5), 7:6 (7:5) and O'Connell 6:4, 6:4, but then lost to Struff 6:3, 3:6, 3:6. Prior to the tournament in Germany, Hurkacz participated in the French Open, reaching third round. Moreover, this season, Hubert showed an excellent performance at the tournament in Marseille in February, defeating Reidle, Imer, Bublik and Bonzi, and deservedly clinching the title.
