Lloyd Harris - Tomas Martin Etcheverry predictions and free betting tips [28/09/2023]

We continue our contemplations on the ATP 500 tournament in Beijing. The next match is noteworthy, as it sees two very different types of tennis players vie for a place in the second round. Lloyd Harris, who is gaining momentum this season, will play against Tomas Martin Etcheverry, who specialises in clay courts.
We need to compare these tennis players to grasp their readiness for the tournament in China's capital, then we'll select a bet for their head-to-head match.
Lloyd Harris
The South African is having a fruitful year, as he gradually regains his pre-2022 injury level when he was managing to move away from Challengers and look quite good at "main" competitions.
This season began for Harris with two Challenger series tournaments in Nonthaburi. At the second one, Lloyd reached the final, but lost it to Artur Kazo. A bit later, at the ATP 250 tournament on Mallorca's grass, the South African performed very well, managing to pass the qualifying round and get close to the final, losing in the 1/2 finals to American Christopher Eubanks.
After a trip to Wimbledon, hard court competitions began, where Harris fails to impress, losing to well-prepared yet not extremely strong opponents.
In Beijing, Lloyd breezed through two qualifying rounds, managing to outplay German Daniel Altmaier, giving him only 4 games, and conceding only 3 games in the first set to Christian Garin and winning the second set from scratch. I hope Harris is well-prepared for the "500 series" in China's capital, and these ultra-confident victories weren't just luck. In the 1/16 finals, Lloyd will play against Etcheverry, who feels uncomfortable on hard courts. Successful attacking combinations should help Harris move towards victory, but we shouldn't forget that Tomas Martin has good ball control and effective defensive techniques, so Lloyd should be prepared for the Argentinian’s playing style.
Tomas Martin Etcheverry
Etcheverry demands high-level titles from himself, but he fails to win finals, and overall, it seems that Tomas Martin becomes nervous in key matches, despite performing well.
Etcheverry lost two decisive battles for trophies at "main" competitions this season. He lost the final in Santiago to Nicolas Jarry, who was not the favourite for that match, despite playing at home with home crowd support. In Houston, Tomas Martin once again reached the main match, but here again, he lost to local favourite Francis Tiafoe, though the American performs mediocrely on clay. There was also a Challenger final in Bordeaux, and again a loss to local tennis player Hugo Humbert. Etcheverry should consider the French Open this year's most outstanding tournament, where he stirred ripples, only losing in the quarterfinals to Alexander Zverev.
On hard courts, the Argentinian reached the quarterfinals in Zhuhai, managing to pass not-so-tough opponents. But Sebastian Korda was much stronger than Etcheverry, primarily because he was more comfortable playing on surfaces with hard bounces, and the American enjoys these kind of courts.
I think it will be somewhat challenging with Harris. The opponent serves powerfully and will undoubtedly often attack from all points, leaving Etcheverry to await opportunities for his responses and hope for the South African tennis player's missteps.
Match prediction: Lloyd Harris - Tomas Martin Etcheverry
I am betting on Lloyd’s victory in two sets with handicap (-4). The court surface's suitability plays a key role here, and in this respect, Etcheverry has less of a chance to beat his opponent. Even securing a set from Harris in this game will present a challenge.
