In the 1/16 final of the championship in Astana, taking place on hard court, we'll see Marton Fucsovics from Hungary go up against Sebastian Ofner from Austria. My wager is on the total over.

Marton Fucsovics

31-year-old Marton, ranked 58th in the world, previously participated in the US Open where he overcame Korda with the score 7:6 (7:4), 4:6, 7:6 (7:1), 4:6, 6:4, but lost to Hijikata 1:6, 2:6, 1:6. His previous performances in Winston-Salem also saw a victory over Zhang 6:4, 6:2, but a defeat to Korda 6:7 (5:7), 3:6, and in Cincinnati, the tennis player failed to qualify and lost to Shevchenko 5:7, 4:6.

In July, Fucsovics took part in the Challenger in Segovia where he reached the quarterfinals. He defeated Girch 6:3, 6:2, and then Mejia 6:3, 2:6, 6:1, but lost to Atman 3:6, 6:7 (10:12). At Wimbledon, he also got through to the third round and dealt with Griekspoor 6:4, 6:2, 6:4 and Hirono 7:6 (7:2), 6:3, 4:6, 6:4, but lost to Medvedev 6:4, 3:6, 4:6, 4:6. Earlier in Stuttgart, Fucsovics reached the semi-finals, beating Shapovalov 3:6, 6:3, 6:4, Wu Yibing 6:4, 4:6, 6:4 and Fritz 6:4, 7:5, but then lost to Tiafoe 3:6, 6:7 (11:13). He also qualified for the tournament, passing both Wessels and Celikbilek.

In May, the tennis player participated in the French Open, where he defeated Grenier 6:3, 5:7, 6:1, 6:3 in the first round, but then lost to Djokovic 6:7 (2:7), 0:6, 3:6. In the other tournaments of the season, Fucsovics did not tally more than two victories, apart from in Indian Wells Championships, where he reached the 1/8 final, defeating Wolf, De Minaur and Molcán, but later lost to Fritz. At the start of the season, Marton won the Challenger in Canberra on hard court.

Sebastian Ofner

27-year-old Sebastian, taking the 59th spot in the world ranking, earlier participated in the tournament in Saint-Tropez where he reached the quarterfinals. As part of the tournament, the tennis player handled Nardi 6:4, 6:4 and Krutykh 4:6, 6:3, 6:4, but then lost to Léstienne. Prior to this, Ofner experienced some failures and lost six out of seven matches. In the Davis Cup, he lost to Sousa 7:5, 3:6, 6:7 (1:7). At the US Open, he handled Borges 7:6 (7:5), 3:6, 7:6 (9:7), 6:4, but lost to Tiafoe 3:6, 1:6, 4:6, while in Winston-Salem, Kitzbühel, and Umag he suffered defeats from Mikkelsen 6:7 (4:7), 5:7, Molcán 6:4, 5:7, 6:7 (5:7), and Popyrin 4:6, 1:6.

In July, the tennis player participated in the tournament in Båstad, where he got to the quarterfinals. During the championship, he beat Etcheverry 4:6, 6:1, 7:5 and Zapata Miralles 4:6, 6:4, 6:4, but subsequently lost to Ruud 3:6, 4:6. It is worth noting that earlier Ofner had exhibited impressive play on the Salzburg Challenger, where he managed to seize the title. On the tournament, he beat Collarini 6:4, 6:2, Klein 6:4, 7:5, Fatic 4:6, 7:6 (7:4), 7:5, Cerundolo 6:0, 6:2 and Neumayer 6:3, 6:2. But at Wimbledon, the journey was cut short by a defeat in the first round against Leháček 6:4, 6:4, 6:4.

Ofner also reached the final of the Ilkley challenger, the 1/8 final of the French Open and the semi-final of the Mauthausen tournament. On the challangers in Prague, Zadar, Antalya and Tenerife, he also made it to the semi-finals.
