Having played 12 matches in all competitions this season, Girona has recorded 10 victories, a draw, and a defeat. Astonishingly, this is only their fourth season in Spain's top flight, which makes their strong start even more commendable. Their best finish in La Liga prior to this season was a tenth-place rank.

Having managed a hard-fought victory last Friday and drawing level with Real Madrid in the league table, the guests will certainly want to take the lead in La Liga, if only for a few hours.
