Real Betis - Osasuna predictions and free betting tips [29/10/2023]

On the 29th of October, Sunday, in the course of the 11th round of the Spanish Primera, Betis will play host to Osasuna. Currently, Manuel Pellegrini's team is in the ninth spot in the league, having racked up 14 points, whilst Osasuna sits in tenth with 13 points.

Betis has clearly been in a state of flux since the beginning of the season, both in La Liga and in the Europa League. Between August 27 and September 21, the "Cucumbers" lost three out of four matches in all competitions, including their debut Europa League group match against Rangers in Scotland. However, things slightly improved afterwards: after their victory over Prague's Sparta (2:1), the "Verdiblancos" triumphed over Aris in Limassol (0:1) on Thursday night.

As for the championship, it seems that Pellegrini's plan is not working – his team languishes in 9th place in the overall standings with 14 points earned and has drawn its last two matches with reachable opponents, Alaves and Getafe, both with the same score (1:1). In addition, the Green-and-Whites have scored only 12 goals in 10 rounds – definitely a cause for concern among fans. 

Osasuna

After two seasons of stable performance, Osasuna likely needs to revamp since it no longer appears to be a contender for a place in the European cups as it used to be. In August, the visitors missed a chance to enter the group stage of the Conference League, being knocked out in the qualifiers by Brugge. As for La Liga, the club from the Navarra region has won only twice in their last eight matches, yet managed to climb into the top half of the table.

However, in the previous round, the "Rojillos" emerged victorious against Granada with a score of 2:0 thanks to Ante Budimir’s brace, making up for their crushing defeat to Real Madrid (4:0) prior to the international break. As a result, the three-colors occupy only the 10th spot in the league table, which isn't a disaster at this stage, and they are 7 points clear of the drop zone. 

Head-to-head

Osasuna has lost six out of the last seven La Liga matches against Betis, but they came out victorious in their recent clash in Pamplona at the end of last season with a score of 3:2.

Match prediction for Betis vs Osasuna

Last season, this match resembled a duel for a place in the top six, but now both teams perform somewhat modestly and are stationed in the mid-table. However, home-field advantage will be with Betis, who have not lost in six matches across all competitions. The Cucumber's key players are gradually returning from the infirmary, and in terms of lineup, the Sevillians are superior in skill. I expect a convincing victory from Pellegrini's charges.

Total prediction

Both teams unvaryingly exchanged goals in four out of five recent head-to-head matches. Considering the team's defensive issues in the current campaign, I predict "both to score".

As the rightful home team, Betis will control the initiative and attack more, so I expect them to win on corners.
