Sevilla - Las Palmas predictions and free betting tips [17/09/2023]

On Sunday, 17 September, as part of the 5th round of the Spanish Primera, Sevilla will host Las Palmas. The team of Jose Luis Mendilibar occupies the last place in the league table, having lost all three matches in the championship so far, while Las Palmas, ranking 18th, likewise has had no success at the start.

They also suffered a defeat to Manchester City in the UEFA Super Cup last month, so the international break has come at the right time for the hosts. Next week, they kick off their Champions League group stage campaign against Lens, so a victory today could give the players some much-needed confidence.  
Apart from poor results, Sevilla's problems also lie in its crowded infirmary. 

Las Palmas

After four seasons in the lower divisions, Las Palmas hopes to retain its elite status for another year, despite gaining only two points in the championship opening matches against Mallorca (1-1) and Real Sociedad (0-0). Before the first international break, the Canaries suffered a second defeat from Girona (1-0), two weeks after losing to Valencia (1-0). During the break, the squad hosted a friendly with Atletico Paso, but it only increased their confidence deficit with another 1-0 defeat, which did not improve the club's situation. Last season, they finished second in the Segunda, but currently sit 18th in the league table.

Head to Head

The Amarillos have not beaten Sevilla in La Liga since September 2015, losing each of their last five matches against the red and whites.

Prediction for the match Sevilla vs. Las Palmas

This is a crucial match for Sevilla, considering their disastrous start to the season. The players will be under tremendous pressure to perform from their home audience, but Las Palmas is the perfect opponent to end this losing streak. The visitors have only managed to collect two points in the tournament and possess a less renowned lineup. I expect Sevilla to regain their form, so I predict a victory for Mendilibar's charges.
