On Saturday, the 4th of November, as part of the 11th round of the EPL, Newcastle United will host Arsenal in their home turf. The Magpies pulverised Manchester United with a score of 3:0 in Old Trafford during the English League Cup on Wednesday evening, whilst the Gunners suffered a defeat against West Ham – 3:1.

Having received new wealthy owners last season, Newcastle now has quite justified ambitions in this year's campaign. The championship's start with 3 losses in the first 4 rounds gave reason for concern, but since then the Magpies have dispelled all doubts, as evidenced by their current 6-game unbeaten streak (4 wins and 2 draws). After decimating Crystal Palace with a score of 4:0, the striped had to settle for a draw with Wolverhampton (2:2) last weekend. This positive streak of results allowed the hosts to occupy 6th place in the Premier League’s standings.

Last week, Newcastle confirmed their excellent form by securing a confident victory over Manchester United with a score of 0:3 in the League Cup. In the Champions League, Eddie Howe's proteges occupy the 3rd line in Quartet F and have as many points as Borussia. Indeed, it is with the "Bumblebees" that Newcastle will have to meet in Dortmund next week. On the plus side, Newcastle won all three of their last Premier League home games without conceding a goal, thus returning to the basic settings of the end of last season. 

Arsenal

Last season, Arsenal was close to winning the championship title, so this season they are striving to reclaim the gold of the EPL for the first time since 2004. So far everything is going well: the guests have not experienced defeat after 10 games played (7 wins and 3 draws) and they occupy 2nd place in the overall standings of the Premier League, trailing the leading Tottenham by 2 points. Having drawn with Chelsea (2:2), the Gunners last weekend easily defeated the sinking Sheffield United (5:0) at home. This week, the Londoners were knocked out of the 1/8 finals of the League Cup by West Ham (3:1), whereas in the Champions League, Arsenal leads in their group - and next week will host Sevilla at the Emirates. Only two conceded goals away (both of which were scored at Stamford Bridge last month) - is the best defense indicator in the EPL at the moment.

In the guests’ camp, the summer signed Timber, key striker Gabriel Jesus and Ghanaian defensive midfielder Thomas Partey are all still missing. Substitute winger Smith Rowe is also unavailable due to injury. Last weekend, striker Eddie Nketiah (5 goals in 10 matches) bagged a hat-trick, and the Englishman is likely to feature from the start this evening as well. Bukayo Saka (4 goals and 3 assists) and Martinelli (1 goal and 2 assists) are also available, as is Belgian Leandro Trossard (2 goals). The return to the field of Declan Rice and William Saliba after a rest in the cup game will not be out of place, and Ramsdale, who failed to make his mark at London Stadium, will, as usual, hand over the gloves to David Raye.

Newcastle deserves huge praise for crushing United midweek, although defeating Ten Hag's proteges this season is not an "insolvable" task. Arsenal will be highly motivated to make amends to the fans for the fiasco against West Ham, and they are not going to let Tottenham slip away any further. The crowded infirmary at the Mags could work in the guests’ favour, so I'm betting on Arsenal's handicap at 0.

Total Forecast

Arsenal have only conceded 2 goals away in this EPL campaign – fewer than any other team, whereas the Magpies are weakened by the losses of Isak, Tonali, and Barnes. My prediction – the hosts' individual total is under 1.5.

Corner Prediction

Both teams preach an attacking style of football and will regularly create sharp opportunities – we confidently bet on the total corners over 9.5.

Yellow Cards Forecast

Only once in six recent head-to-head matches, the teams earned more than 4.5 yellow cards together. I’m not expecting a plethora of warnings now.
