On Thursday, 20 June, as part of the 10th round of the Brazilian Serie A, São Paulo will host Cuiabá. The hosts have not been able to secure a win in two consecutive matches and risk falling out of the top six with another slip-up, while the visitors find themselves perilously close to the relegation zone.

Luis Zubeldia's side settled for a goalless draw against Internacional (0-0) and a 2-2 draw with Corinthians. São Paulo consistently scores two goals per game this season, while their defence is even more impressive: the hosts have not conceded a single goal in five of their last six matches in all competitions. 

Cuiabá

Last weekend, Cuiabá surprised the football community by thrashing Fortaleza 5-0. Coach Petit's side had to wait a full month for their first victory under his leadership following Luis Fernando Iubel's dismissal. The recent triumph was preceded by a 5-2 demolition of Criciuma on 9 June. In the first half, Clayson, Ramon, and Jonathan Cafu scored, and following an opponent's red card, Pitta and Fernando Sobral also found the net.

Over the last 270 minutes, the Yellow-Greens have scored 11 goals, the best record among all Serie A teams. However, Cuiabá is only 14th in the standings and just one point ahead of Gremio, who are in the relegation zone. The visitors are 14th in overall standings, including points earned on the road (just three in four away matches with six goals scored and nine conceded).
