On Wednesday, 13 June, a friendly football match will take place between the national teams of Ecuador and Bolivia.
The Ecuadorians lost their last friendly against Argentina (0:1), but losing to the reigning world champions by such a score is hardly a disgrace. Ecuador has a young and talented squad that could still surprise at the Copa América. In this match, I believe the nominal hosts will comfortably overcome Bolivia.
The team has played three friendlies this year, winning only against Andorra (1:0). Against Mexico, they looked weak and lost (0:1), although they could have conceded more. The match against Algeria was better, but they still fell short (2:3).
I cannot highlight any players in particular, as most of them play either in the Bolivian domestic league or in Argentina, so they lack experience at the European football level.
Since 2020, the teams have met five times. Ecuador won all five matches (2:1, 1:0, 3:0, 2:1, 3:2).
In my opinion, Ecuador’s squad is significantly stronger than Bolivia’s, suggesting an easy win. However, Ecuador rarely plays in TO recently, so here I would take: Win1 and match total under 3.5.
