On Thursday, 6 June, a Friendly football match will be held between the Netherlands and Canada.
The Dutch secured their place in the Euro from second position, having faltered against France. They boast an excellent defensive line with De Ligt, Aké, and Van Dijk. All players are of a very high calibre, but they seem to be missing Promes to strengthen the attack. In their last five matches, they only conceded to Germany (1-2) but had no trouble securing victories over Scotland (4-0), Gibraltar (6-0), Ireland (1-0), and Greece (1-0).
Canada will soon have the opportunity to test their mettle in the Copa America. In their previous five encounters, they defeated Trinidad and Tobago (2-0) and Jamaica (2-1), but lost to Jamaica (2-3), Japan (1-4), and drew with the USA (2-2, 3-2 on penalties). Canada's two standout players are Alphonso Davies in defence and Jonathan David in attack, with the rest of the squad lagging behind in terms of quality, placing much of the hope on these two athletes.
The last time these teams met was nearly 30 years ago, with the Netherlands claiming a 3-0 victory. It's high time to replicate that success.
The Dutch side has a fantastic opportunity to delight their fans with a spectacular game on their home turf and to experiment with their lineup. I’m taking a home win and a total over 2.5 goals odds (something like 3-1, 3-2).
