On Thursday Mexico and Uruguay will face off in a friendly football match.
A few days ago, the Mexicans faced Bolivia and defeated them (1:0), but the win wasn't exactly convincing. It is hard to highlight any standout players on the field, and Mexico currently lacks a clear leader to carry the team, although they are quite cohesive. Not long ago, in the CONCACAF Nations League final, they succumbed to the USA (0:2).
As expected, in their previous match, Uruguay flew to Costa Rica with their second team, but even so, managed a draw (0:0). It will be very interesting to watch the team in the Copa America, as they have several top-level players, and they are one of my favourites for the trophy. This is Uruguay's last friendly match before the major tournament. With European competitions and many regular leagues having concluded, it's time to release their main squad.
Since 2018, the teams have met each other twice, with Uruguay emerging victorious on both occasions (3:0, 4:1).
A lot will depend on the lineup for this match. If Valverde, who has been excellent with Real this season, and Nunez are included, Uruguay's chances will increase significantly. It's wise to follow the game live and catch the visitors' victory. Pre-match, one can consider: over 2 as it's permissible and even necessary to take risks in friendlies.
