A friendly football match between the national teams of Croatia and North Macedonia will take place on Monday, 3 June.
The Croatians comfortably qualified for the Euros, finishing second in their group. They are currently on a four-match winning streak, having defeated Latvia (2-0), Armenia (1-0), Tunisia (on penalties), and Egypt (4-2). The defence line is solid, but the attack could play better. This match will be held on home soil, so the support from the fans is guaranteed.
The North Macedonians found themselves in the group of death with England and Italy, thus missing out on the Euros. They are a fairly solid team, not to be taken lightly. Recently, they managed to secure a draw against England (1-1) and even scored a couple against Italy, although they lost (2-5). In friendlies, their performance has been underwhelming: they lost to Montenegro (0-1) and drew with Moldova (1-1).
The two teams haven't met in quite a while. The last game took place in 2012 during the World Cup, where Croatia emerged victorious (2-1). However, these are completely different teams now.
The hosts should be in full preparation mode for the upcoming tournament, so I have more faith in their victory, even though North Macedonia is not the easiest opponent. I think Croatia will win here with a minimal score (1-0 or 2-1), so I'll take Handicap 2 (+1,5).
