The Scandinavian players have not been relegated from the elite division and almost repeated their success last year by reaching the quarter-finals. In the 2023 World Championship, Denmark ranked 5th in their group, losing to teams from Germany, Finland, Sweden, and the USA. They were just 4 points behind the German team. In the current World Championship, Denmark is not performing as successfully and is unlikely to compete for a quarter-final spot. After winning their first match against Austria, the Danish team hasn't gathered any more points. Victory over Austria can already be considered a success. Subsequent losses to Canada and the Czech Republic were no surprise. However, losing 2-0 to Norway was a major upset. Currently, Denmark is in 7th place in the standings, 3 points ahead of Great Britain.
