Alex Iwobi expressed his desire to have remained on the field during Fulham's dominant 5-0 victory over Nottingham Forest in a recent Premier League match on Wednesday, December 6.
In this game, the Nigerian star opened the scoring at the 30-minute mark with a well-placed shot following Willian's cross and later doubled his tally in the 73rd minute. This match marked his first-ever brace in the Premier League, occurring in his 234th appearance.
Despite his impressive performance, Iwobi and teammate Raúl Jiménez were substituted in the latter part of the match, in the 76th and 79th minute, respectively, precluding them from a potential hat-trick.
Reflecting on his performance, Iwobi shared on Fulham's official website his satisfaction with achieving his first brace and his eagerness for more, noting his missed opportunity for a hat-trick. He acknowledged the importance of team rotation and securing the win but couldn't hide his wish to have stayed on the pitch, especially with a potential hat-trick within reach.
Iwobi, who rejoined Fulham in London at the transfer deadline, has scored four goals in thirteen appearances since his return.
